How to style wet curly hair?

So my hair is rather curly (ill show a pic) and I just got out of the shower. I'm going to a party soon, so I can't let it air dry ( it takes HOURS). So what should I do? If I put it in a bun the curls come out squished and weird. Please help :)

I personally add a curling cream first then diffuse,and at night either put your hair in a pineapple or braid it.

When it's wet just braid your hair then take it out the next day & the curls should turn out really

Do random braids all over your head, I do about 9 :)
