Best Mascara? Most versatile on different types of lashes?

I bought 2 different Dior mascaras being told they were amazing...I don't like them at all! What is your favorite either drugstore or professional mascara? Do you think it would look good on different types of lashes?

Guerlain Maxilash (I've used on all different clients with different lashes and its great). Also, Lancôme hypnose star has a great applicator that builds a ton of length and volume. I also really like Clinique High Impact extreme.

I've recently fallen in love with stila stay all day volumizing waterproof mascara...it plumps up my lashes perfectly and the brush is really weird and triangle like but it separates my lashes like a dream...and it doesn't flake off or slide around on my lower lash line

Ok so I know people love their mascara and a lot of it has to do with the brush! Is a really good mascara still doable with a typical disposable mascara wand?
