It's just really tight, carefully sectioned dutch braiding. I used to use Murray's pomade when I did this as a kid. You just have to be really careful to smooth down all the fine little baby hairs with the wax, and depending on your texture, the braids can look pretty thin. I'd recommend getting your hair as coarse/frizzy as you can first, because the more texture you have, the better it turns out. lol no smoothing products!

*shrug* I never did mine all the way though. Just the front portion like a headband.
