Caffeine makes you break out. Aside from that it's fine.

The only food linked to acne is dairy. I drink almost a full pot of coffee each day and my skin is clear. I'm vegan and don't consume any dairy

Caffeine isn't good for your health at all. When you have caffeine your energy goes up for a little while...but then it goes down extremely and you have no energy!

I agree with Em. They dont give you energy, they increase your heart rate dramatically with loads of caffeine and sugar and unknown ingredients. You might be young but you could have a heart condition that you arent aware of. It could affect it in the future as well. I would save my heart and rest of my health and just study each day, days before the test. I never understood why people go to extremes to cram the day before or day of the test. Youre gonna be exhausted from the crash later and not be able to focus on the content of the test anyway. You may not feel the crash externally, but your heart certainly will. Its just not worth it, study a few days in advance.

Caffeine is harmless in small doses.
Redbull, on the other hand, is crap. Who cares of the caffeine? It's loaded with sugar, artificial flavorings, preservatives, etc. You didn't give up soda because caffeine can make you break out - it's the sugar content.
As a side note, studies are pretty clear on "cramming." Whatever you read in the first two hours will probably stick...after that point, your retention drops like a brick. By the time you hit 3, 4 a.m. it's unlikely that you'll actually be able to remember anything you read after that point, and further, your exhaustion is likely to lead to stupid errors that you wouldn't have made if you'd not crammed at all and just gotten a full night's sleep.

I see no connection between acne and redbull. sugary snacks does not give you acne and is a myth. Its already proven that chocolate and other sweets do not instigate the production of acne. Though...you should avoid drinking energy drinks, as it can greatly affect you internally, especially your heart and liver. If you need an energy boost, a cup of joe would do it, but dont expect for longlasting energy from just one cup. Though I suggest that you only drink ONE cup of coffee a day. Another way to boost your energy is to get up and take a 5 minute walk or do 20 jumping jacks in place to get the blood flowing to your brain. Another tip would be to study in a well lit place. a dim light in a dark room such as a desk lamp will make your brain think that its time to sleep or in otherwords..."its dark, time for sleep mode". Bright lights will trick your mind into thinking that it is still daylight, your brain will shift into "continuous active mode". Thus, keeping you awake longer. Hope this all makes sense! Good luck with your studies!

Caffeine really is not bad for you, it can in fact prevent lots of different cancers. Black caffeinated coffee should be your new best friend for many different reasons. Look it up or better yet, ask your doctor like I did. :-)

wow i wasn't expecting to get this much feed back on the matter but thanks lol. um i dont really want to drink black coffee or in my house hold cafe con leche lol (coffee with milk(or soy for me)) because i dont want to yellow my teeth and i dont want to rely on it daily for energy. I only drink energy drinks when i know i need to get a lot of stuff done that day and i just cant do it naturally. As oppose to my test, for one im not a minor lol and i didn't cram it all in at last minute but i did get an A and was the first to finish so i must be doing something right, right? lol. ill definitely look into the other possibilities to get energy without harming my body for the long run thanks guys appreciate it :]

Jenny:
The two studies that you're referring to that suggest there is no correlation between diet and acne have been THOROUGHLY debunked. If you want to read something well-researched and referenced on the matter, pick up The Clear Skin Diet.
