Ok ladies, how long do you typically spend practicing your technique? I have been stuck in a makeup rut for a bit and would like to change things up. I have always applied my makeup the same way and have been unsatisfied with my look a lot lately. So I have been checking out all the different makeup looks you lovely ladies have. But when I try some of these looks it doesn't turn out as effortless as you all make it seem like. :). So I would like to know how often do you "practice"?

Thanks for your response Madeline! I think I might check out a few how-to videos this weekend for new tips. :)

I wouldn't try to copy other people. Just mess around. I just found myself getting better over time without actually having a goal. If you like it, you'll do it everyday and then you'll just get better.

Everyday if you don't already have 1 I would get a sketch book from Amazon it's very similar to the ones at Mac counters.

Thanks for the advice Anjum. I am trying. When I was younger I never really cared about makeup or anything considered "girly". Now that I am in my thirties I seem to be obsessed with makeup, perfume, etc. Not sure what changed... lol

Thanks Nicole. Pardon the ignorance but what kind of sketch book are you referring to?

You practice and you keep practicing even when your older it all gets better, keep in mind you don't have to do what they say to do or use the same brush.Explore your tools and figure out what works best for you, it can be as simple as a Qtip that makes it happen for you.

Thanks Alma. I think the hardest part for me is thinking I am not applying product correctly or using the right brush. I appreciate your help.
