I have dark brown hair and I shave mine all the time, and they've never grown back thicker and darker just the same, they also don't grow back quicker for me ! :-) only have to shave them like every 5 or 6 weeks :-)

it is pure myth that any hair at all will grow back Thicker from shaving!!! This makes me want to tear my hair out!!! hair grows and like nails, gets "worn" on the edges creating a point like this \/
When you shave, you create a blunt edge giving that singular hair the illusion of being thicker, but in fact it is the same diameter it was except at the very tip. like this .. l_l
the two points on each example have an equal width.
Also, it will not suddenly make you sprout more hairs than were there previously!
Please, anyone show me the scientific evidence that cutting a hair, (any hair!) incites more hairs to grow next to it. If that were true, all of you would be shaving your heads to make yourselves grow back thicker hair from the dang threads of how to get more hair.

Just like Alisa said.
I shave during summer for 6 years now and never got thicker hair.

No! You don't need to shave, wax or pluck your arms. Just wait until you've spent a little time in the sun and the hairs will naturally bleach. If you want it to happen faster, anytime you've got your arms out in the Sun, spray lemon juice all over and that will help to naturally lighten the hairs. x

this really depends on your hair type. if i were you i would shve a little unoticable spot of your arm hair and see how fast it grow and if it grows thicker. if it does grow thicker then shave because it's much easier but otherwise wax..

Get them waxed for sure. I started shaving mine my freshman year. I've been shaving for the past 5 years but started waxing and the hair is thinner and comes back slower. But for now if u don't want to wax just bleach.

I shave my arms like every other day, first you exfoliate with body wash and a loofa then you apply soap and shave. It doesn't grow back darker for me at all but when I feel a little prickly I know it's time to shave again

Don't shave your arms! Honestly if you do they will get worse! I have hairy arms too and I know how you feel! Just embrace them! 😊

I shave my arms all the time, I have been since 8th grade (that's about 5 years ago now). My arm hair is very very blonde so it's basically invisible, but it was LOOOONG. Like seriously almost 2 inches. I shave them now and I have absolutely love it! As people probably have said above, your hair will NOT grow back darker or thicker. It looks thicker because the top that's growing out is blunt because you essentially cut it. Hair naturally grows in three stages, that's why it looks pointy. When you cut it, it's got more of a square top, thus LOOKING thicker, it's not actually thicker. As for it being darker, it has not had an opportunity to get lightened by the sun yet, so it looks darker. All those myths about how bad it is for you is total crap. It's literally the exact same situation as shaving your legs, and no harm comes from that!! I say go for it :) especially if it'll help you feel good about yourself
