African American Girls, Can you share tips on how to grow healthy natural hair? Im looking for no chemicals, just a flat iron or things of the nature. I did the big chop 6 months ago!

I use olive oil and a deep conditioner for moisture. I recently went natural and it has made a difference in growth.

Hair Trigger Growth Elixir is a product I've had a lot of success with. Taking Biotin and/or hair skin and nails supplements will help as well. Trim away split ends only when you notice them; don't trim according to a schedule. Moisturize your hair with a product that lists water as the first ingredient, seal with an oil, and sleep in a silk scarf or on a satin pillowcase. Hope that helps :) good luck!

hey.I believe by now its grown to a reasonable length whereby it can actually be braided.I'd advice u to continuously braid as frequently as possible so as to give it time to grow.I also cut my hair and I can say that braiding made a big difference(with some bit of patience)..goodluck:)

@tiara m. Biotin doesn't necessarily speed up or change growth, it will just make hair grow stronger at its same rate. This will improve the retention of the hair and stop breakage.

All of this is so true the only downside is finding the right product and regimen that works for you bur when you so find stick with it!! And be patient! Trying new things causes breakage and setbacks:(

some of the you tube bloggers swear by Jamaican castor oil and yet to try it myself..castor oil naturally grows your hair anyways, it is found in the ingredients in mascaras.
