Nancy, I dont know about any creams or gels.. but I do recommend The Tresemme Heat Protector. Its real good 4 protecting hair. I would never change it. :)

I def don't recommend a wet to dry straightener because it singes the hair and doesn't leave it soft. I have super duper curly hair and I just got a herStyler straightener for about 150 ...has option to adjust temp and goes up to 500°. amazing and totally worth the price

There's really no such thing as a good hair straightener but I would suggest to do your hair with a hot comb and lastly with a flat iron. Trust me it works and it leaves your hair really bouncy an luscious
