I have very fine, greasy hair that NEVER grows! It gets really damaged even if I don't use heat at all. However, I have to wash it everyday because of the grease and I've heard not washing it is healthier. I've tried dry shampoo but it hasn't worked so well. I have been taking Biotin pills and have only a couple pills left in the bottle and no results. I am a teen, so maybe that could be a factor? Also, I have a friend that cut her hair shorter than mine (mine is to my shoulders) almost four years ago and her hair now reaches her waist whereas mine is still at my shoulders. I've been craving long hair for several years now and nothing has happened! Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice?

The more often you wash your hair the quicker it will get greasy ! If you wash your hair everyday your stripping out the natural oils ( that you need for it to grow and repair itself) try and go an extra day in between washing it, then when your hair gets used to that go even longer without washing it.
Because you wash your hair so often your hair is producing more oil to make up for the oil your removing

I agree with Holly.
Shampoos contain pretty harsh chemicals that are probably 1: irritating your scalp and 2: weakening your already fine hair.
First off, you probably need to switch to a sulfate free, and possible sulfate AND silicone free. Loreal makes some (Everpure or something) that are pretty inexpensive and work well. Aveeno also just came out with one and I really like their shampoos, but they're slightly more expensive. You can also try organix.
Give your hair a month to adjust to that process. Then you can try going longer between washes, ideally, every 2-3 days. Your scalp will stop producing as much oil.

Thanks for the advice! :) I've also been using Garnier Pure Clean shampoo, if that changes anything. It is silicone, paraben, and dye free. Not so sure if it's sulfate free...going to look into that. Also, I have bangs that get especially greasy. Thanks for the advice, though, I'm definitely going to try it!

I used it for a while. Pure Clean will definitely clean...but it uses both sulfate and salts that are horribly drying without the benefit of silicones to at least PRETEND to give your hair a nice texture and the conditioner is bloody near impossible to completely wash out. That's your problem right there. Throw that mess in the garbage.
