Honestly there is not going to be a cheap flat iron that is 'good and healthy' I would recommend to save up and buy a Ghd or Chi

Go to TJ Maxx! They sometimes have expensive flat irons for cheap. That's where I got mine.

I'm not a big fan of the cheap ones, damage more the hair, I prefer to pay a little more but I'll get a good quality product. I use the karmin g3, it's very good and you can style nicely your hair. :D

If you have split ends no straightener is going to fix that. Straightening your hair isn't good for your hair period.

My hair has suffered through being straightened with a cheap flat iron. You're better off saving for a decent brand like GHD. I recently bought a cheap Remington when I needed a flat iron at short notice because my good one died.
The plates chipped, the coating peeled off them, and in the end even the casing holding the cord in place broke and the cord became loose - a dangerous hazard.
See if you can borrow a friend's old GHD or something until you can afford to buy one.
Your hair will thank you for it, and it will last a lot longer than a cheapie.

Heat will damage your hair no matter the price or style of iron. It's still heat. The only way to help split ends is to cut them off. However, using a protecting spray and an iron that is slick (doesn't pull hair) and has a temperature setting set to the lowest that will still straighten your hair will minimise the damage caused by all heat appliances (including hair dryers, flat irons, curling irons, etc.)

Bed Head has AMAZING hot tools! Moderately priced $20-$50 I have a straighter a waver and three curling iron from them , I've tryed lots before revlon conair hottools etc. my $25 bed head straightener is better than my $120 Chi iron!
You should definitely check them out! I've seen them in Target Ross Marshall's :)

There's no point in getting a cheap flat iron..get a GHD it'll last u a lifetime I've had mine for 2-3 years and it still works just like the first day I got it. Don't get a stupid chi either

I use the One n Only Argan oil straightener. The plates are infused with Argan oil. I have very coarse hair and it works wonders.
