I use Purity by Philosophy and hope in a jar... I had very mild break outs but my face is totally clear and smooth! But I have heard great things about Philosophy's Clear Days Ahead - acne skin care line. I used Proactiv in high school when my acne was at its worst (which did work for me) but I don't recommend it. Honestly when I tried to ween myself off if it my face became worse than before! And it took me more than a year to get it back under control. Honestly I think most acne lines are too harsh. I would suggest buying a really effect blemish fighting cleanser and a regular cleanser and use both. But get a good routine going! Your skin does not to well with change, so with every new thing you do, you should give it at least 30 days to see how it's working! :) good luck, it's no fun having breakout'

I was going to mention almost exactly what Alyssa said about Philosophy's products. The clear days ahead line really helped me, particularly the acne treatment lotion. And the purity cleanser is still the best one I've tried. They'be all helped get my skin clearer. I'm not 100% clear yet but its so much more manageable now. I'd definitely give them a try. They're effective but gentle. You definitely don't want anything super harsh because that can make it worse.

Do not do Proactive! I tried it in high school when I only had small minor breakouts. After a month I had full blown cystic acne that took years to treat with all kinds of treatments from my dermatologist.
