You might try looking on line for a Mexican pharmacy, also.

WTF?
Don't get some flipping across-the-border crap. You have NO guarantee that it isn't a fake product, and even if it isn't fake, you have NO guarantee that it isn't made in some sort of lead factory. You don't know what's in it, you don't know where it was manufactured, you have no idea under what guidelines it was manufactured, what kind of safety procedures were involved, whether or not it's pure...the list goes on.
DON'T be an idiot.
If you want to use a retinoid treatment that is less expensive, sorry, but you're going to have to get a lower-strength product. Strivectin makes a retinoid cream in various strengths. Philosophy's Help Me also contains retinol. There are a bajillion products on the market.
Either use something you can buy or suck it up and pay the price if you're that worried about your wrinkles.

We've purchased Rx products from Mexico & had no issues. Done it for years with zero problems. Now, I wouldn't buy via the Internet from Mexico & we always make sure to use a larger, reputable pharmacy. Plus, we always double check to verify seals are intact. A family member works for Dey Pharmacuticals & has been able to have a few items tested & all came back 100% as labeled.

Retin-a thins your skin over time. If your older its okay to use ,but young...not so much.

My dermo said u could get it cheaper over the counter but not to do that because the over the counter stuff was hight strength and super drying for your skin, he gave us a bunch of cards that took the price down of the Rx stuff

I didn't call her an idiot. I told her not to be one.
The reason is you need an RX for RetinA is because it's STRONG. It may cause burning, irritation, peeling, and other issues. The OP is what - 20? 22? If that? She doesn't need it anyway.
Jeez people.

I am a skin therapist and I would highly recommend that you NOT use Retin A without seeing a doctor and getting a prescription. You're young and beautiful. Drink plenty of water, properly remove your makeup nightly and apply and reapply SPF daily. Those are your best defenses for preventing signs of premature aging sun damage.

Retinols and retinoids are not just for aging. Infact, ORIGINALLY they were made for acne and clogged pores. The anti aging benefits were discovered later. They're used for everything from psoriasis, to hyper pigmentation, to lightening freckles, to skin texture and large pores. What vitamin A, synthetic or not, does is change cellular structure . So while she may not need it for anti aging, there's a variety of reasons she may want to use it. She didn't say she wanted it for that purpose.

Mexican pharmacies are just as reliable as American or Canadian. Only difference is Mexican pharmacies will most likely have things that are no longer legal in US/Canada... Eg: Meridia.

I'm not stupid or being an idiot. The post was where to get it cheaper! I have used MANY things from pharmacies in Mexico. Nothing has happened. Same stuff only cheaper and no prescription needed. I have also be there for dental work. No problems there either. :)

I am a registered nurse and there is nothing wrong with purchasing medications from Mexico, no more so than purchasing them in Canada. They're still made by the same companies, the only difference being that in other countries big pharm companies aren't given carte blanche to price gouge and rape consumers. As for obtaining meds over the internet, well, that's a separate issue...but I have personally purchased meds in Mexico and have many patients who get their meds in Mexico (as well as several of the doctors I work with!). It's a pretty big leap of hubris to start calling people idiots.

I am also a nurse and I get my retin a in Mexico or the Caribbean when I travel. The pharmacies are no different than he pharmacies here. Even with a crypt in the USA the cost is high because most plans do not cover it. I think the last script I got the cost would have been between $70-$90.

So, umm, can you get any medication without prescription from a pharmacy in Mexico or just certain ones?

I've been using philosophy-help me... Which contains buffered (time release) retinol and I've not had any of the burning or peeling I experienced with other retinol products and my skin really has drastically improved

@ Coco- you have to have prescriptions to bring certain drugs back over the border, like pain pills, ambien, etc. you can brink back antibiotics, retin a, and others. You can look up lists on what you can bring. I suppose you can try to bring anything back, but it would be a huge risk! You do not want to end up in a Mexican jail!:)

Can you just order it online from mexico?

You can get Retin-A on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321367160553&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT), as recommended by two YouTube beauty queens: Tootsie Time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRwPhO-kEsg )and ItsMyRayeRaye (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4JaJokaDx0&list=TLXzdAv1ADg2a62kT47l10nbh8JDfbo3EU).

I have gotten retin-A in Mexico for more than 20 years. I get the 1%. It is amazing. I am now 73 and use it about 3 X a week. The next am after use, I rub a good oil into my face in a circular motion to remove any dead skin. Then I wash and add moisturizer and sun screen. I know it is strong, but can't understand why It's still prescription?? My daughters (age 50) use it as well. One daughter tends to get eczema and sensitive skin. She uses the 1% mixed with moisturizer. I can tell you, they both look under 35 and I look 60ish.. it's define atelier the retin-A. So far the only product that is proven to help with wrinkles.
