I'm 16 and I started wearing makeup about 5 months ago. ever since I started wearing makeup I've loved it! but honestly, to actually learn how to use it and apply it properly and build up my makeup collection a bit, has been hard work. ever since I started wearing makeup, my little sisters and my mum always make fun of me. they call me a clown and all sorts of other things. I am still in my experimental and learning stages in makeup but I don't think I look that bad. when I go to school and stuff like that people love my makeup application and ask for tips and stuff so I don't feel as bad in front of others. but everyday when I get torned down by my sisters and mum I get really upset. I feel that there's no point in wearing it if the closest people to you hate it and mock you for it day after day. I was actually crying today because they made so much fun of it and I've had enough. i'm not sure what to do about it anymore... help?
p.s. my dad has no problems with me wearing makeup. he loves it and compliments me a lot on it :)

maybe you should tell your mum and sisters that it gets to you, theyre just not use to seeing you look different and older, my brother and cousin done the same to me but I kept wearing make up, if it makes you feel confident you should keep it up, wether you need it or not is a different story :)

I've told them how it makes me feel bad whej they insult me like that. my mum kinda stopped, but my sisters carried on and when my little sisters insulted me today, my mum joined in and made it worse.

hi babe, heres my advice, fix for the occassion. for everyday wear stick to natural colors, nothing too heavy. like just concealer, mascara and lipgloss and a hint of blush on.

i think maybe you should try a natural look that will look amazing for your age <3. You can just apply eyeliner, lipstick and blush~ If you want, just add powder to cover ur face~then you will look more beautiful~

Extra advice: I suggest you pick soft colour for your lipstick or lipgloss, such as soft pink. in that way, you will look younger than before <3. The worst lipstick colour in your age is RED (my opinion only), coz it will make you look so old.

I actually do always wear neutral colours xD I usually wear a bit of everything except foundation which I only wear on weekends and special occasions. berry colours, nudes and nude pinks are the only lip colours that match my complexion cuz my lips are quite dark, and i'm south asian.

Maybe it's just because they hate make up lol~ or sometimes people hate make up coz they can't use it, or they think it's dangerous for health and skin. Where are you come from actually ? I am also asian.

yeah my little sisters hate it but my mum doesn't, she has her own little collection. I sometimes think my mum discourages me so I feel bad and wear less of it, but them she gave up and is now making a comeback!!
i'm from south asia. specifically Bangladesh. I wish I wasn't though. I was born and bought up in the UK. how about you?

Honey you shouldn't let Anyone tell you to wear makeup or not. Let your creativity inspire you and experiment different looks... If you like to wear makeup, then do it! Your mom definetly should definetly not act this way, it feels immature and mean... You're her daughter, not her friend. She shouldn't make fun of you with your sister ..:(

If she's Asian, i think that it is because she thinks that you are too young to try make up. lol
I am Indonesian, but I am living in Singapore ~~ my mom also never suggest any make up or giving me any free of her goodies. I tried to experiment it by myself. But as you said, she also doesn't like me doing it lol. No one let me down, and after awhile i can do it better than her lol~ then she give up and start learning from me <3

Ohh my gosh it's the same for me. sometimes she lets me use her makeup and also gave a lipstick she didn't use yet. so it's great! but when it comes to specific things and trends, she gets annoyed.... but I think she is ok now :)

As the time goes, I believe she will understand someday~ Because 16 is a girl & not yet a women era~~ Lol, "when it come to specific things and trends, she gets annoyed". I think it is because she is not willing to buy your make up collection yet :p

haha no when it comes to makeup she is ok with it. she never let me wear makeup. but on my 16th birthday she gave me £200 to spend on my first makeup. so she wamts me to wear it, but makes fun of it when she doesn't like how it looks.... but she fluctuates between liking it and not liking it
she gives me money each week for my savings to spend purely on makeup. so she is willing to do it

your mom is so unique~ I wish that i will be given that birthday gift that i will spend entirely on my make up collection lol~~ I always spent my basic allowance to get my make up collection. She hate to buy me make up, coz it's so expensive (including drug store ) to buy it for me. Nice for you actually~ she's actually supporting you~ but maybe her way to love and compliment you is different than usual <3

Try just using bb cream ,light neutral nude eyeshadow,light sheer lipstick.This is THE best way to get started for begginers,I started like that when I was 9 years old!!!im now 14 and perfecting. My makeup ,I'm planning on being a makeup artist cuz my aunt asked me to do her makeup in her wedding day and she looked gorgeous!
