This is a beauty app I highly doubt 14 year old girls know ways for your husband to gain weight. Hire a trainer.

Yeah, I've had very skinny guy friends and they just started working out a lot, exercise helped the build muscle and get bigger. Maybe change his diet to eat more carbs and protein.

How old is your husband? Mines only recently started getting bigger now that he's 25 and is still slim! Has he tried protein shakes? And going to the gym? Carbs will make him gain weight around his stomach if he wants to get thicker he needs protein

1) it depends on the type of foods he is eating, ie: high protein? Carb heavy? Full of fat? If so, are they good or bad fats?
2) if he's looking to "thicken up", his diet will only do so much if he isn't doing the appropriate exercise.
Tell him to consult a dietician and/or nutritionist as well as a regular GP. He may need to be tested to make sure he isn't iron deficient or mineral deficient, and if he has intolerances or anything which is preventing his body from absorbing food the way it should be.

Ya ave- I agree with Pam, u have been kinda mean to people lately. Ensure shakes might help- my little brother used to drink them, it really works and you can find it anywhere.

My brother has that issue, he's 6 foot and slim, he eatsretty well but doesn't seem to gain any weight easily, and when he does, he looses it fast, he's started to drink protein milkshakes for muscle building, and works out too, it's all about taking high protein foods, carbohydrates. ..etc, but not fast foods, chocolate etc...lots of chicken, rice, pasta, potatoes...has he been to the doctor abouf it?

I'm not a 14 year old girl. hiring a trainer is unnecessary.
Marlen, hey girl. you can tell him to try lifting weights and drinking protein shakes.
my brother is a free runner, lifts weights, and takes in TONS of fiber and protein. protein is very important. he used to be very skinny and scrawny until he started free running. now he's pretty buff.
anyway, you can ask a worker at any vitamin store for free advice as to how he can get started.
my husband is also working on building muscle mass. he drinks this chocolate protein shake and it works cause I see major muscle definition. his job is in construction so he uses his muscles on the daily. for sure if your husband is just eating junk foods, he won't see any healthy weight gain especially if he has a fast metabolism :)

He needs to weight train hard and eat/sleep very well and it will come on. Over eating will make him unhealthy fat as he gets older. He needs lean muscle to fill out. Lats are prolly what he wants but he should talk to a personal trainer.

Nothing else will work if he is not sleeping enough.

He should go to GNC and talk to someone about some kind of protein shake or weight gainer. That's sure to put some weight on him if he drinks it consistently.

He's 21, he eats from salads to steaks almost everyday, he doesn't take protein or fiber, which I agree with you guys I think he should but Ill go to a vitamin store or gnc and ask what protein suits him!^_^ honestly Ty all very much! It's really appreciated! Hope all is well<3

My boyfriend is 6'4 and he was skinny too recently he's been working out a lot and he drinks protein shakes after a workout they make him hungry he says. He has gained 15 pounds of muscle in 4 months! I think the key is eating a lot of protein and working out! Hope this helps. And it's sweet that you are such a thoughtful wife(: wish y'all the best!

If he's only 21 he might have a fast metabolism this will slow down in a few years!

When I met my boyfriend about three year ago he was 114 pounds and over 6 foot, now he's about 145 pounds (usually fluctuating by 5 pounds either way). He was able to gain this weight through a lot of weight lifting and I am constantly feeding him. His metabolism is extremely fast especially for someone in their mid/late-thirties, so that is a constant challenge we're up against. He has been able to maintain a weight over 140 for about a whole year now with a strict weight lifting schedule, which I think is pretty impressive. His goal weight is around 170 so he's really hesitant about adding cardio-workouts into his routine since he drops weight without even trying. He has seemed to drop some weight because he's been eating constantly, but he is eating junk. He is most successful in gaining and maintaining weight when he is eating a healthy, high protein diet (he does have to eat these things constantly though). So as far as his successes, I would recommend weight training and a high protein diet. I know its quite difficult and takes some time so I wish you and your husband good luck!
