Finally!
I have used all prestige lines of foundation over the years and this stuff is incredible, great full coverage. Very natural and makes my skin flawless. Not to mention the price point is LESS than drug store brands even after shipping!! I will always use this from now on!
First impression: oxidises too much
I'm only giving a first impression review, so read other reviews on staying power etc.
It's easy to blend and layers well. Shade looks perfect when first applied but oxidised quite a bit within a min. Tried to capture it in pic but the difference is less obvious than in person.
Best foundation for the price!
I bought this foundation as soon as The Ordinary came out with this, before it was out on other sites. This is not at a La Mer, Armani or Estee Lauder level and it would be a dis-service to compare it to any of those higher end products. I will say that for the money this is a very good value. I mix 1/3 of the 1.2N to 2/3 of the 2.0N to get a good match for me. I use this to work, and to run every day errands. I have dry skin and use retinoid products. I prefer the foundation coverage over the serum coverage. It is more of a satin matte. The serum coverage is dewy at first, then turns into a somewhat slick mess as the day goes on. The foundation is more matte and stays in place much better. I do not use The Ordinary primer, but prefer the Bobbi Brown face base instead. Pigmentation is very good, I don't have to use very much to get a smooth, semi-medium coverage. However, for someplace special or special occasion, I do prefer my La Mer foundation or my Tom Ford foundation stick.
Enhanced fines lines =(
I REALLY wanted to like this product. I've been using The Ordinary products for over 3 years, when I had to order them from England. All my skincare is The Ordinary. I so wanted to love this foundation. Sadly, not even the tiny price can persuade me to continue using it.
The Good Points: It feels good on the skin. It is full coverage, but not too heavy or mask-like. A little goes a long way. It spreads well.
The Bad Point: It super enhances the fine lines in the mouth area, including lip lines and marionette lines. I'm 59 and am told I look 49. But unfortunately this foundation made me look 69. I used my Ray Morris #23 brush which can make any foundation look amazing, but sadly, no matter how much I buffed, the lines continued to scream out. After trying it 3 times, thinking if I just do the right application it would work, I just tossed it in my bathroom trash can.
