I used to really love these towelettes. But after two packs of using them, my skin started to disagree with it. I started having these red bumps near my nose lips and chin. I started having burning sensations. I was soo disappointed with it. But i can say that if youre really lazy to take makeup off and wash your face, i think these would be good.
Gave me a burning sensation
My face became hot and had a burning sensation after using these. I guess I am more sensitive to some ingredients than others. I believe alcohol is a potent ingredient according to another review I read about these. They are also very oily which I can not stand. My face doesn't feel clean and I hate that. They do get my makeup off but its not worth the after effects, especially on my eyes! yikes!
Oily
I usually purchase the CVS brand version of these, which I love, but my cvs was out, so I got the neutrogena ones. They do the exact same thing, but these ones leave some sort of weird, oily residue on my hands and face after using it. I really hate the way it feels! It leaves me feeling greasy and gross. I MUCH prefer the cvs brand ones. No oily residue or greasy feeling after using them. Plus, they're cheaper!
just sayin!
thanks so much for all the reviews! they were all helpful! especially Mally S. i definetly do not want anything left behind on my face. i had an oil pad remover from CVS and it left my face feeling oily. i hated it. i decided to buy a new remover wipe. so i wanted elf remover wipes but the shipping was 7 dollars!! i couldnt do that! plus it was only 20 wipes! so i got these off amazon for $4 plus free shipping! i decided to look at the reviews. im not sure what ill expect. i cant wait to try them out! the one thing i really dont want is that oily feel but it mostly got good reviews. some people say they dont leave any residue. some people say they do. a quick way to fix that is to wash your face off with a warm rag after use of the wipe. i guess its just certain skin types. i really hope mine isn't one of them.
Takes off all of your makeup!
These makeup remover wipes are great. They take off all of your makeup. From what I can see, they don't leave behind any! I have sensitive skin and they are very gentle. I also have oily skin and they don't leave behind an oily residue. I love, love, love this product!
best out there!
I'm so glad I discovered these makeup removers. Way back when I used baby oil and it made my eyes so bleary afterwards, and it was messy and oily, although the oil broke down the makeup well and it smelled great. Then I caught onto the makeup remover pads phase, with a bad stint from Almay. I forgot how I found these suckers but I love them. They smell so clean and fresh and their cool, moist dampness is very refreshing. You can use one towelette for your whole face, but I usually use one for my foundation and face makeup and another for my eye makeup. They remove everything easily and thoroughly, with a few swipes- no tugging on sensitive eye areas and delicate skin- I'm not anti-wrinkle/anti aging, but I don't want to cause wrinkles by tugging at my skin. As I've mentioned before I have sensitive eyes and I haven't encountered any tearing with this product. If you use more than three wipes, your face might slightly burn/ tingle, but will momentarily subside. There is a subtle residue left over, but I've found that it doesn't cause me any noticeable breakouts (that I'm aware of), so If I'm feeling really lazy and tired I don't wash my face after cleansing with the towelettes. I actually found, because my face is so dry, that my face drinks in any residue left over from the towelette. For my face, any residue instantly gets soaked in like it needs a much needed drink. They are great moisturizing wipes! Oily skins might not work so will with this moistness, however. I am gonna try to get in the habit of not sleeping with my makeup on (gross, I know) and washing and moisturizing right after using them. These are great for my own collection and my beauty kit- I keep a pack for myself and a pack that fits perfectly in my kit bag's zippered pouches. They are also great to quickly cleanse your face, even without makeup. These might be great for cleaning brushes, too, so I'll have to experiment with that. I love the cute packaging but there are a few cons to the product. I like the resealable packaging but once its opened, the "lid" doesn't really stick back down. To remedy this, one could put it in a sandwhich baggie and I usually just tuck the package so the opening is closed, in between other products in my skincare basket next to my sink- although that is only so effective. The other con would be the price. Mine is $7.99. 25 towelettes for 8 bucks is pretty good and these are the best wipes around but if I want to replace my personal wipes AND my kit's wipes thats around 16 bucks, plus whatever tax it happens to be. I wish these were a little cheaper, but I can live with the current price.
Good Stuff
I've tried other makeup wipes before, these are pretty basic but definitely effective. Usually I just use it to remove my makeup before I wash my face. SOMETIMES (oops) I use it to "quick cleanse" my face when I am too lazy or tired to wash it. Surprisingly enough, I do not wake up greasy or broken-out. I notice if I rub too hard I may experience a little sting. It doesn't last long; the sensation isn't horrible. All in all a good buy at a reasonable price.
