Hmmm
Well I am thoroughly disappointed with this product. The colors are unreal and I have been eyeing it for so long and finally gave in. The shimmer shades seem very buttery but the matte shades are difficult to say the least. They go on patchy and you essentially have to apply them with your fingers if you want any impact from the what appear to be high impact color. For a $50 price tag I expect better. I am a professional makeup artist and have worked with many lines so I am no stranger to cosmetics.
holy mother of pigment
So I'm a makeup junkie of epic proportions. I'm picky. I think every pallette is guilty of disappointment until proven otherwise. let me just tell ya'll. this crap right here is KILLING IT. The colors....are you kidding me??? Ridic-u-lous. Natasha has got her game face on people. buy this stuff. worth every penny. you can do a daytime, nightime, in between time basically any look you want. my 4yo daughtet especially loves the gold Glitter pan. it's like buttah. no fallout. no flakes....it must be wizadry. score!
Pleasantly Surprised
After eyeing the full Natasha Denona Blue and Purple, I decided to purchase this 5 palette because it had the colors I was craving most. I didn't want to put down the full price for the full palette without trying these out.
I have oily eyelids and was worried that these would crease on me or just slide off. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the lasting power on these shadows far surpassed what I thought would happen. Pairing the shimmer shades with nina's orchid (my overall favorite color) was a dream as they blend together extremely well.
I will definitely be purchasing more palettes or even the full Blue-Purple palette. I reach for this palette more than any other.
I do use a primer just to make sure the shadows stay in place. This is my new favorite.
I don't usially wear bright colors but this palette changed my taste. So in love with colors in this palette. The most unique and beautiful I have ever seen. I am switching this palette and playing with all natasha denona eyeshadow every day. I cannt stop looking at these eyeshadow. This palette is especially good for green eyes. Auberge ne amazing matte and Nina's orchid matte with little sparkles that are seen only with sunlight. Natasha denona is great with unique colors that I don't have in any other palettes that own. And of course the quality and pigmentation is the best I have seen so far.
It's nice but not a necessity
This is my first Natasha Denona palette. I was seriously considering the larger palettes but after this purchase, I'm not sure they'd be worth the splurge. These are very nice shadows, do not get me wrong, but I don't find that the colors are any more unique or perform any better than many of my other brand palettes. Maybe its just the #10 palette in particular and some of the others are life changing but I'm not sure I want to spend the money to find out. The mattes are very dry and it took time to build desirable pigmentation on the lid. The gold glitter shadow is GORGEOUS on the lids BUT you do need a sticky base and it is beyond messy. The palette itself looks really shabby already from all the fallout from the shadows. There was fallout in the palette before I even opened it. I'm probably least impressed with the packaging. Yes, it is sleek but I'm not confident that it is sturdy enough to be travel friendly. Actually, I don't even really trust it in my makeup bag in my purse. There is a slot for a brush but none included and no mirror. For a palette in this price range, I would have expected more. Again, the shadow quality is nice, but its nothing you won't find from another less expensive palette or one that offers more color selection, better packaging, etc.
What I love about these palettes is that the color stories and different textures take me out of my comfort zone. I use transition shades, lots of blending, winged eyeliner (before I've had my daily caffeine intake), and an occasional cut crease. These palettes help me to take risks and be creative without washing off my looks three times before I nail it. Another reason I love them is that they are very easy to use and I don't have to spend my entire morning blending them out. I don't use eye primer because I have dry lids and they last all day without fading. I do recommend to use a wet brush or glitter glue for the glitter pigments. Also, I have a light neutral skin tone and the darker shades like purple and navy actually show up as their true shades on my lids. I tend to pull greys and blacks on dark cool tone shades and these do not do that. I was very curious to see how these palettes would work on more mature skin (63+) and I was really happy with them when I applied to my Mother...and so was she.
