Needs to be sold in stores
I love this concealer but it's so hard to find the right shade. I bought C8 and it's so light I can't wear it and so I bought C13 and it's closer to my normal skin tone. But it's hard to find the right shade online you will end up buying more than one to find the right shade. Which is why it should be sold in stores. Other than having problems finding the right shade it's an amazing concealer. I don't use it under my eyes though because it looks “cakey” and so I just use it on all over my face but my under eyes.
Colourblind?
I love the formula but I don't think JSC is aware what MEDIUM skin is. I had to try a few shades to get it right, but I use the one for "medium" skin for an eye base and it looks like I'm wearing white shadow. I understand that concealer is supposed to be lighter than foundation but not by more than 2 shades.. the c15 (TAN skin with golden olive undertones) works for me. The "medium" olive was a joke and the neutral medium fit better. It does look nice so that's why I give it 4 stars. I just wish I realized how LIGHT the "MEDIUM" was supposed to be. I usually wear Juvia's medium.
one of the worse concealers iv’e ever tried....
This concealer made my lines and darkness pop out more! I really think this is one of the worst concealers I’ve ever tried. And I have tried many, and so far kept : too faced, shape tape, Nars, Becca.. And Maybelline... I have ALOT.
I’m genuinely upset that this concealer didn’t work for me. I hereditary have dark circles and have always been on the look out for that HOLY GRAIL concealer. The thing is that I don’t wear foundation or any of that heavy makeup, I just use concealer, blush, and depending on the day, mascara. Trust me tho, I use to be a heavy makeup wearer, so trust when I say I’ve tested many, MANY concealers. I’m so upset, I’ve been watching reviews about this concealer for literal days straight and all I heard was good things. how ? The too faced SHADE VANILLA was soooo much more full coverage and DIDNT make my eyes feel dry. Even shape tape is better but I prefer a light concealer than that tacky full coverage.
I’m not bullshitting, I tried Magic star setting powder, my usual setting powder, I even tried applying the concealer in different ways.
Only pro’s : it was easy to blend, really creamy and light, and did leave a soft airbrush look.
Con’s : made me look more tired, showed my lines and left a grey/blue tone on my under eyes.
Wild Guessing With Shade Range
For concealers, I usually use NARS 'Ginger' (in creamy radiant and soft matte) and 'medium' in Tarte's Shape Tape, but my complexion sits in between a neutral-warm to straight-up golden warm depending on the season.
I thought that C13 would work the best for me, since the photo swatches looked closer to the concealers I did have, and C14 would've been too yellow.
I just got it today, and as much as I love the formula, the shade is totally wrong. To salvage it, I'll probably have to mix it with existing concealers and use it as a highlight shade sparingly.
I just got in the mail today too — totally heartbroken as I was really rooting for this JSC product. </3
Go darker
I have found with these concealers that you will be a few shades darker than you would be with other concealers. I thought for sure I'd be C7/8 but have turned out to be C13 and a little gies a long way, dont be to heavy handed. For my skin (I cant speak for everyonr) the JSC beige setting powder works best with this concealer, which foundation you use doesn't seem to matter so much.
AMAZING
OMG, this packaging is tooo cute, very unique and girly, Quality is really good. it is a full coverage. NO creasing on the eyelids as a base. does not show my fine lines under eye. It is very light on the skin, blendable and buildable. JS is not playing with his formula. IT IS SOOO GOOD. only thing tho is, i ordered a tad lighter shade for my tanned skin ahahaha, so am getting a darker shade. but i can still use this as a shadow base and brightning
