This product is great and super slept on, in my opinion. It's my go-to foundation and has been for a few months now, simply because of the HIGH (and I mean high) amount of pigment, and because the foundation IS so customizable and build-able, as advertised.

I had a few.... eh experiences with it at first, simply because, as others have pointed out, it doesn't mix well with just ANY moisturizer. It really doesn't. Some of the creams I tried made it look nasty and blotchy and cakey on my face. Not cute. I hope they truly do improve upon this in the future. However, once you find a product that it DOES blend properly with, the results are incredible. This foundation truly gives off a flawlessly airbrushed look once used properly.

I find it works best when blended with a makeup primer or a repairing moisturizing lotion. I've mixed it with my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer with great results. However, my absolute favorite is mixing it with my Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser. It makes the liquid consistency more creamy, not to mention it adds even more smoothness to my face. It also works really well with my Vaseline repairing lotion, it just depends on what kind of mood I'm in. I then use either buffing brush or a beauty sponge to help it merge with my skin and pores for that "second skin" look. It also surprisingly applies really well with my fingers, I've found.

Some people don't like matte finish foundations, but I love matte foundations as I am a fan of that "made up" look. I find that this matte foundation makes the perfect solid base and gives me free reign to then add color/dimensions as I please with other face products. Another way to change it up a bit would be to mix a dewey or illuminating primer with the foundation. I've never attempted this since, as I've said, I prefer a matte look.

For those days when I don't feel like getting dolled up (which is most days), I simply merge the TINIEST amount (a little goes a LOOOOOONG way) in with my choice of mixing product and it gives me beautiful sheer coverage as well. That's what I adore about this foundation, the versatility of it.

It goes on FLAWLESSLY, as I've mentioned. It hides my imperfections and moderate to severe acne very well, without inducing further breakouts, which is a must for me. It also has very good staying power. I have combination skin with an oil rig on my T zone, I only have to blot once for an entire day if I set it with powder and spray.

The one thing that truly annoys me about this product is the "dropper" design of the bottle. I get that the gimmick here is that you have to only use a few drops, but, I've found that's not really the case. I find myself on average using an amount tantamount to 4-6 drops. Not only that, but the consistency is a bit too thick and creamy to be fully viable with the dropper. It's definitely not a liquid, so it's just an awkward and impractical set up. I find myself NEVER using the dropper and just wiping off the product from either the dropper or the rim of the bottle to use on my face. Perfect segway to my next complaint about the design of the bottle: it's SUPER messy. I'm always careful so it doesn't get too out of hand, but it definitely gets all over the rim. If you're not scooping it directly from the rim as I do, I could easily a lot of this product going to waste and not lasting you very long. As it is though, I use it generously and pretty often (not daily), and I've had it for 2 months.

I don't believe this foundation is for everyone. Not everyone wants such a high coverage matte finish foundation, some people want a very natural look. A majority of consumers want to just put on their foundation and go, without the added step of mixing it in with another product. Not to mention most people don't want to have to work around a product so much to get it to work properly, which is beyond understandable. However, I DO believe this foundation is worth the slight effort (I don't know, I don't see it as much of an effort, since makeup is so much fun to me) it takes. It is AMAZING quality. It might even be holy grail. Cover FX, you've done it again.

I bought four of these expecting them to be brilliant, the first time I tried it I wasn't to happy because of the oily texture fellow people told me it would change and it didn't so I'm am quite disappointed with the outcome
