Didn’t love it
I really wanted to love this foundation. First I tried it with a foundation brush, and was not happy with it at all. Decided to try it with my usual go to (beauty blender) and it was hard to blend and smeared a lot but once it blended it felt nice on. I set it with CT airbrush powder and wanted to give it a chance on the longevity. 3 pm rolled around and it had completely worn off in my smile lines. That is a big downfall for me so I ended up returning. Back to my HG (KVD lock it). The coverage also wasn’t full, it was medium at best.
Unbelievable!
I am a true foundation junkie, when I read the initial reviews, I was a bit skeptical but am sold. The shade blends exactly into my face with what I will call a semi-matte finish. The foundation stays on until the end of my day and it does not rub off on my phone (a big plus!) - I look natural, not cakey nor made up. Best compliment ever happened while wearing this foundation: "What are you doing with your skin? It looks amazing!"
Light feeling full coverage
I've always been reluctant to use a full coverage foundation for fear of it feeling heavy and looking cakey. This foundation does neither. It feels light and the coverage is amazing. It does not settle in to my fine lines and the color is a rich, caramel tone with no hint of yellow. This foundation lasts through a 12-hour hospital shift - which is always a really significant accomplishment in my book.
Great Foundation, especially for the price
I have oily skin, and this foundation at first seemed like it was going to be a holy grail by itself. I tried it without primer or setting powder the first day, and it was a hot mess. I usually wear foundations through 12 + hour work days, so I should have known better. A lot of reviews said it mattified and powdered down a lot, so I thought it would be so drying I wouldn't need anything else. This was not the case for me. (So if you have dry skin, I truly think you can wear this and it will work for you and not dry you out. )
I did find that it works very well with no primer, but the IT Cosmetics Pores No More setting powder (which I'm convinced can make ANY foundation last). The combination of the foundation and setting powder worked like a dream. It has a gorgeous finish. Color 7 Medium is perfect for me. More than anything I have shade match issues. I am olive toned, but hate looking orange or reddish and anything with the smallest amount of white in it will whitecast me. This foundation shade was amazing. It literally glows. I also think its a very versatile shade and can work for the whole medium spectrum. The coverage was very full, which is also something I look for.
Beautiful but short-lived coverage and finish
I absolutely love this foundation. It has lovely coverage and looks like skin, not makeup. It doesn't draw attention to my pores or imperfections. The only negative is that I haven't figured out how to maintain the look for more than a few hours. I have very long work days and this (alone or with primer and Charlotte's beautiful Flawless Finish) doesn't take me through the day. Would love to find a lasting solution.
I'm a CT fan for life now!
I've always had trouble buying foundation: too light, too dark, too orange-like, not enough coverage, etc. However, Charlotte Tilbury's product may have ended my search for MY perfect foundation shade.
I'm Puerto Rican so I do have olive skin tones, however my face for some reason is lighter than the rest of my body skin color, plus I have some redness on my cheeks and have oily skin. I've always being an in-between shade, and for that reason, have wasted lots of $$ on foundation that never quite "got" my skin color.
Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Foundation feels luxurious, covers perfectly and seriously, it matches my skin like crazy!
I've always heard this adage: "If you can splurge on just ONE make-up item, make it your foundation". Well, Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Foundation will be my splurge!
