Lovely for a daily natural/no makeup look
I really enjoy this foundation. It provided a nice amount of coverage without looking or feeling heavy. I tried applying this both with my fingers and a beauty blender. I found a damp beauty blender worked better at distributing the product nicely. With my fingers, it felt like the foundation was drying down faster than I could blend it.
This is what the company claims about this product: 1. Enhance your skin with a tinted veil of color that evens out imperfections and imparts a natural-looking luminosity I found this to be true. It provided medium to light coverage (enough to cover sun spots) without looking or feeling heavy. I wore this over Thanksgiving and no one could pin point what exactly I was wearing (most thought I had just washed my face because it looked clean and radiant).
2. Experience fewer wrinkles, more even tone, and smoother, plumper skin, thanks to youth-boosting actives that get to work instantly I haven't had this long enough to confirm, but there are a few nice skin care ingredients in this.
3. Create a smooth, perfect base for makeup as psuedo-ceramides and botanicals kickstart collagen production and drench the skin with moisture I did feel like my skin looked and felt moisturized when I used this foundation. I was happy with how comfortable it felt.
Overall I am very happy with this. I was unsure how I felt until I began asking the women in my family what makeup they thought I had on. Everyone's last guess was always "...um...idk, foundation?". That made me feel great!
Perfect Non-Foundation Foundation
The Perfect Non-Foundation Foundation! I have tried them all: BB creams, CC creams, tinted moisturizers, non-foundation foundations. This is the only one that is truly light but buildable, matte but NOT cakey, floats flatteringly over fine lines, and has a delicious velvety texture. Perfect for combination, sensitive, and/or aging skin.
Note: I’ve been looking for a replacement for Sarah McNamara Miracle asking transformer and this is the winner by FAR!!
Better than the wonder glow
So this product is really nice and lightweight for summer days, it doesn't last very long on the face but it gives a pretty subtle glow. On some days it oxidizes on my face and other times, it looks dewy.
FYI : I have semi-dry skin and lots of redness, I do have to pack it on to cover the redness. So the coverage is actually more of a sheer-medium (medium if you pack it on).
My new holy grail!
I cannot believe it took me so long to try this foundation! I love the natural and radiant looking finish that it gives! I prefer light coverage foundations so this is perfect for me and it lasts reasonably well under the heat and humidity (95%!!). Thank you Beautylish for helping me find a shade match!
4 Fair for NC 20/25 skin
I love this foundation. It has an amazing finish that I have yet to find in other brands. It's slightly more dewy compared to YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint Foundation (B30) but lasts longer and has a better finish and more even medium coverage. It also sets well with Charlotte Tilbury's Air Brush powder (usually under my eyes + T-zone). The only drawback is that it transfers like crazy. As long as you don't talk on the phone or are out trying on clothes it will stay fine and you don't need to worry. It can be worn with or without primer, but pairs well with the Cover FX anti-aging primer. I have applied it by hand, with a BB and a Marc Jacobs buffing brush and they all work well. It sheers out bets with the BB though. It also photographs like a dream.
What Le Teint Touche Éclat should have been. GORGEOUS!
I have been crazed for years trying to find the perfect glowing foundation that was luminous due to its pigments and not just full of oil, and I also have sensitive skin that doesn't react well to chemical sunscreens and heavy perfumes. I also hate anything that looks remotely cakey. I tried YSL's Touche Éclat foundation as soon as that came out, and it was perfect looking, but it caused redness and my nose would itch badly when I was wearing it so I would have no makeup on my nostrils after ten minutes and they would be red from blowing my nose so many times. I had to give my bottle away and go on a 3 year hunt for the perfect foundation all over again. The first time I tried this, I got a shade that was way too pale, shade 1. Usually I have to wear the lightest shade any brand has, but not in Charlotte's makeup. Shade 1 didn't match and seemed to have less pigment than the other shades I subsequently got samples of. I found out that this makeup seems to have more wiggle room and room for error when choosing your shade, the same way that the original YSL Touche Éclat foundation did- I could wear a BD10 or a BD40 in that and it didn't ever look like a mask or like it didn't match. That's exactly how this foundation looks.
The glowy finish on this is amazing. It covers really nicely if you pat it on with your fingers or dab it on with a flat, traditional foundation brush. I would not recommend using any kind of stippling brush or kabuki brush with this, you can do it but it won't cover and you will waste product.
I'm not really sure why so many people are saying that it has no coverage. I don't agree with that, but I guess I have no idea what they are trying to cover with it. I don't have acne, just some annoying redness that makes my face more pink than I would like, probably due to the fact that my skin is so light and see through. That isn't a look that I particularly like, I'd rather be opaque and glowy with no pink. Maybe that isn't a big deal to cover for the people writing the things about it having no coverage, they aren't really specific about it... but for my issues this definitely solves all my problems and feels nice and doesn't irritate my face at all or dry it out.
I bought this in 3 shades- for winter, summer, and self tanning. That is how much I love this foundation. I also personally think it's a really good price for what it is, I'm used to having to pay $60 for foundation, and in my opinion, if your foundation isn't perfect, there is absolutely no way your makeup can look good.
If you have spots to cover, the retoucher is incredibly thin and pigmented, and very glowy even after it is completely dry, so it really goes with this perfectly.
Utterly perfect!
After the help of Jennifer with Beautylish customer service, I found the perfect shade for me! I'm 47, but this foundation (under Charlotte's Magic Cream) makes my skin look young and dewy! It's the perfect way to start that amazing "glow" look we are seeing everywhere!
Holy Grail Item in the Midst
I usually wear full coverage foundation. I tend to gravitate towards matte finishes, too. After watching a YouTube vlogger and Charlotte's vids, I was entranced by the models's skin and vlogger's skin. It looked so healthy and radiant. I bought this with the powder and the concealer, as well. I didn't buy the skin care items, because I have a fabulous moisturizer I use now.
Anyways, this is sheer to medium coverage, but can be built up. This does not settle into pores or wrinkles. This makes it a holy grail item for me. This foundation makes me love my skin. I swear it diffuses light or something because my skin looks wonderful. It has a luminous finish; so this wouldn't be an oily person's friend. My skin is on the oily side, but I love this glow this gives. I powdered once today, and I was good to go.
I highly recommend this to folks who have dry to combo skin, even if you tend to get a little oily, I'd say try it. I am impressed.
Definitely not great
As most of the reviews indicate, this foundation provides only light coverage. The great thing about it is that it's very weightless and easy to blend. However that's where the pros pretty much end. It's not very pigmented and the coverage is almost minuscule unless you use a VERY heavy amount, and even then it's medium at best. I don't really recommend this except maybe for people with almost no acne breakouts who only want a casual use day time concealer.
