Beauty Product Reviews

Blah glitter.

I'm a huge fan of sample sets/multi-color palettes because they let me try out a variety of products so I can weed out colors I would never wear. I bought this palette because it seemed to have a good deal of colors I'd actually wear and it had the least amount of repeats when compared with the other palettes. I really like a few of the colors, but I also really don't like the glitter that ends up all over the rest of my face.

Hard to apply.

I like the color I have of this a lot for a nice subtle wash, particularly if I'm going to be contouring the rest of my face, but the packaging size/shape makes it difficult to get enough product on my blush brush and I definitely have to build the color gradually, which ends up being time consuming.

I should have spent more money.

I bought this cause it was cheap and didn't want to buy the Urban Decay Grindhouse for my eyeliner. It takes a little tug to remove eyeliners after sharpening, and leaves a ridge in the pencil, which then hurts a lot when it ends up in my eye while applying product to my waterline. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Wonderful!

I have a hard time spending lots of money on foundations when they're so unpredictable...I don't know if the color is going to turn out right, if it's going to make my skin look or feel yucky, etc.

This product is so good for the price. Dita Von Teese says she wears this foundation so I thought I'd check it out. I have very pale skin and I was worried the color matching I did online was going to be wrong. I went into the store and their color swatch card confirmed the same shade, which looks great on my skin. I'm honestly stunned their online shade-finder was correct. I like that their shades correspond with other products like concealer, blush, etc. making it easy to quickly grab something that isn't going to be too dark or overpowering.

I just dab it on with a clean sponge and it smoothly balances any weird coloration that I might have, it blends well, and works nicely for covering under-eye darkness as well.

I die without this.

I first opted for this primer because of the complaints regarding the magic genie shaped Urban Decay Primer Potion bottle and how much product was lost unless it was liberated, and that all seemed like way too much work. One of these bottles lasts forever, the product absorbs really well, and I notice a huge difference in creasing when I forget to use this.

Meh.

I know a lot of people absolutely love this product, but it just doesn't work for me. It has the weird oiliness that it seems like a lot of the creamy Urban Decay products have and it makes a bit of a mess on my skin and doesn't stick for very long. It's been ok with some eyeshadows, but others have disappeared fairly quickly.

If you were wondering if it's worth it, it is!

I'm normally a wild color person. Typically anytime I wear neutrals I tend to get comments from customers about how I'm *not* wearing color. Whenever I use this palette I go back tons of compliments, color-free! All of these shades are really nice and aren't full of that obnoxious Urban Decay glitter that gets everywhere.

The packaging is wonderful and velvety. I sadly got the palette that came with the eyeliner instead of the brush, but Ulta charged me the brush-set price. I was excited about being able to try out one of UD's brushes (and had just bought a brand-new full-sized Zero,) but alas, I will have to wait. I *DO* like Whiskey though, as it's a nice change from black eyeliner all the time and it has been handy to have the liner ready to grab when I do my eyes.

I also love that I got a mini Primer Potion, in the sense that I've only used Too Faced Shadow Insurance thus far and have always wondered how they compare. I don't really care for the Primer Potion at all, but am pleased I finally got to try it.

This palette is so worth the money considering everything that it comes with.
