oily hooded lids
So, if you are like me, you have slightly oily hooded lids--the dark enemy of "Transfer" is our nemesis. I never really had a problem with transfer in the past but now, I am on the hunt for the PERFECT eyeliner. This one pulled me in with the claims of "24 hour wear, waterproof, smudgeproof"...sure, ok. why not. The consistency is nice, it is true to black, and the formula is creamy which makes it controllable with a good angled brush. It did transfer, lately i have been dusting a little powder on top just to hold in as much oil as possible...it's wearable. If you know of an eyeliner that will rock my socks...holler.
I have been on a quest to find a new MUST HAVE gel eyeliner, so I picked this one up. It's everything these reviews say: creamy and true to black. I just don't think it's waterproof like it is advertised. It did transfer onto my brow bone area (common problem for hooded lids) but it is still manageable. I like it, but it's not my most favorite.
craptastic formula
It's awesome, it shatters, it pushes your nail creativity, it's OPI, it's black, it's chic, it's affordable...BUT, my shatter polish literally got thick and goopy the FIRST day I used it. It gets tar like and it's almost impossible not to use too much product. I was forced to apply just a thin layer of crackle which looks nice but is really dry and clumpy applying, only to spend more time with nail polish remover to clean around the cuticles. I've done some pretty cool looks with it but the irritated feeling I have while I'm doing it is not worth it to me. Sorry Shatter polish...I'm over you.
fresh face
This foundation if for the girl who has relatively decent skin. She doesn't have oily skin or have too many acne scars. She likes to have a very fresh face look. (That look when you step out the shower and your face looks like it has had a party in the steam.) This foundation is misleading by its name. It's definitely not going to be your first pick for foundation if you are getting ready for a night of picture taking or clubbing. However, I think it works great for the Monday - Friday daytime work face. You can build up coverage, but I think it looks best just as a way to even out some skin tones and still let your natural skin peak through. If you are someone who loves that look, this is for you.
bamboo handle.
There isn't much I can say about this brush set that someone else hasn't already said. You get 5 quality brushes for less than $8 if I'm not mistaken. The blush and angle brush I use the most. The blush brush is a lot more dense than most "drugstore" brushes and the hair/bristles (o_O) are so soft. It really is a pleasure applying product to your face when you are using this brush. I love the angled brush as well. This little guy is made for your gel eyeliner. You really won't be disappointed, and you can walk away feeling like you did a good thing because it is Eco-Friendly.
if you like pimples.
I wanted to love this. I wanted to cover myself in it. ok, not really, but I really did want to love it. The first time I used this foundation I fell in love. It went on smoothly, it wasn't caked, I loved the color, and I loved the way it was quick and easy. Then, a week later...zit city. It just clogged up my pores like no one's business. I even gave it 3 more tries of consistent wearing to see if I was just being hard on it---nope. Pimple Party! If it works for you, I am jealous because the stuff looks great on skin, too bad it ruins mine after. *tear*
winner.
I use this on a daily. It's easy to just throw in your purse, pat pat pat on some powder when your nose gets a little shiny or when the under eyes are lookin a little sad. It's just good powder. period. I use it top of my liquid foundation sometimes to set things and the color pay off is awesome. You wont ever look like you went overboard. Just buy it!
This stuff is fantastic coverage wise and it feels like a velvet cloud of concealer goodness. The pigment is nice and it blends well. I have seen some girls use it as a way to prep their lips when applying a red lip or some other dramatic color. I think it works great under the eyes and on areas of the skin that aren't dry. <--don't try to throw this stuff on top of a zit that is healing. This is a must try kind of a thing. I doubt you will be disappointed. If it doesn't get the job done for you, you might need a new face. o_O *totally kidding* makeup is fun, enjoy it!
I have hooded lids and this long wearing waterproof formula is the tits. <---funny to say. I purchased this because I have lost all hope in drugstore eyeliners. The pen provides lots of control with minimal effort and it is true black. It doesn't crease or get flaky. If you love awesome eyeliner, you'll like this.
I've always been more of a gel eyeliner girl, but I purchased this in hopes of perfecting the liquid cat eye look. The applicator is long and a little tricky to manipulate if you have never used such a thing. It didn't irritate my eyes or make splotchy lines. After I got the hang of it, it worked out well. It gives a shiny black line, I'm not really into that, but throwing a little black shadow on top to matte it out, works. By the time the product starts to run out, it becomes a hot flaky mess. I have hooded lids and it was starting to crease because the products consistency was getting gross. I wouldn't buy it again, but I think it's all about preference.
