Well pigmented, very blendable
I have this shadow in Poem and Yes!, which seem to be two completely different formulas--Poem is much softer, and lightly pearlescent, while Yes! is matte and a bit chalkier in the pan. But fear not--it does not apply chalky at all!
Both cover wonderfully, though I often feel the need to wear a yellow, white, or neon green base underneath Yes! to really get the colour I want from it. They blend superbly, and last forever since a little goes so far. Honestly, though, I probably won't buy more of these since I have very similar colours from other brands and don't need duplicates. If you don't have them, though, they're fabulous.
Honestly, I bought this blush to use as a shadow, since finding a good red shadow is close to impossible. Hyper-pigmented and easily blended, I'm pleased with the formula overall.
I was a little hesitant for the price, but you really do get a rather large pan. And unless you use this every day, you'll probably never use it up.
Too dry for my taste
Maybe I just got a defective product, or maybe it's just the formula of the purple, but I found this far too dry for comfortable use. It really wouldn't load properly on a brush, and it swiped streaky and flaked off.
Could just be my fluky experience, but I'll stick to Fluidline when it comes to gel liners!
Three of these five brushes have quickly found their way into my every-day bag. The angled and regular shadow blenders are great for just that--blending. I've used the eyeshadow blender for all-over colour applications, but it's very fluffy so don't expect to get any concentrated colour off it. The smudge brush is a must must must have in my brush arsenal--it's perfect not only for smudging lines, but also for applying loose pigments and deeply pigmented shadows. The bristles are short and dense, but still rather soft, so it's not uncomfortable to apply.
The other two brushes in this set, however, I could do without. The angled brush is so stiff and coarse that it really is only good for brows, and frankly, I don't really need two of the same style brush for separate functions--one angled brush is good for me! The flat brush I never really used, either. It's made of a stiff plastic-feeling bristle, and my eyes hated me for even trying it.
Best liner for an all-night dramatic cat eye!
You simply can't get a defined, winged line like you can with Fluidline and an angled brush!
I'm a long-time user of all sorts of eyeliner--pencil, liquid, powder, you name it! But it was all over once I got my hands on this formula...depending on your brush of choice, you can create all sorts of eye shapes and line thicknesses, from the super-thin to the ultra-dramatic! Once dry, it stays all night and never budges--I've even changed contacts with this on my eye and never experienced any smearing.
I wouldn't, however, call it 'foolproof.' I have 'fooled' many times with this, but it's always fixable. Contact-users, beware: somehow, I always always always end up with a line across my lens--as long as you catch it as it happens, you can remove it. Otherwise, you're stuck with a black smear across you sight all day, or putting in a new contact!
Great for lower lashes and waterline--
I've been using these for years, I think I probably have five or six Zero nubs floating around my various purses. They're a great, quick, no-fuss liner, especially if you want a thick, dramatic, smokey look.
That said, I don't normally use them to line my whole eye. While I love using them on my waterline and along my lower lashline, I really don't like them on top. I've experienced a lot of transfer (with every primer known to man!), and I just can't get the line to look like I want it. Always too thick, too shapeless, and not defined enough. Sorry, I like my sharp, defined, liquid looks!
Banishes oil, sets all day, but a little drying
My sister purchased this powder, but did not like it because she claimed it washed her out. Personally, I don't believe it, but whatev, it's mine now. :p
I love this powder, as it's easy to apply, sets my foundation all day, and keeps any and all oil shine away. My only complaint is that I feel a little dry by the end of the day. Honestly, I'd rather feel dry than be super-shiny, so I'm not that bothered by it. As previously mentioned, it is a little messy since the powder is so finely sifted, but I apply with a mineral foundation brush and it stays somewhat under control.
When I saw this product in my local Sephora, in the shimmering, rich red Siren, I knew there was no way I was leaving the store without it. Normally, I don't wear glosses alone. I apply my primer, my lipstick, and then I'll dab some gloss on top to enhance colour, or shine, or just keep myself from feeling sticky. This gloss stands alone. It covers richly, feels amazing, and stays rather well. I wore this out for drinks and didn't need to reapply all night. I can't say I'm nuts over any of the other colours--certainly not enough to spend the money for another shade, but I'm very pleased with Siren, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a dramatic red!
I'm always on the lookout for a good lip stain, and Duwop is one of my favourite brands for lip products. I love the cinnamon smell their products have, and nothing makes my lips feel better in the winter than their tingly formula! That said, I did not hesitate to buy this when I saw it at Sephora, on the DuWop display. It goes on as a shiny, bright red stain, but dried down to a matte red lip. Definitely needs a coat of something over it, because my lips feel a little sticky for a while. Give it a while to set, and maybe apply another coat later in the day/evening, and you're set! But if you put it on and immediate drink or eat, it will come off, leaving patches of red in strange places. Just be warned. Don't think that's enough to take away from the product rating though. It's one of my go-to reds, and definitely my best-feeling!
Cute, but not entirely practical.
I have this product in Raspberry, Strawberry, and a discontinued Silver Glitter. Honestly, I thought this was a gel blush akin to Tarte's when I first bought it, and the Silver Glitter has been used on my cheekbones, around my eyes, and on my chest for nights out. I bought the raspberry thinking it would be less purple, more berry, but I found it a little unwearably dark for a balm. The thick tube also made it a little difficult to apply without the intervention of a fingertip. Despite that, I bought the strawberry. It's much more pink-red, and very fresh and youthful on the lips. Haven't tried either of them as blushes, since they both seemed dark for me.
