Beauty Product Reviews
Great for the price
If Beautylish's star rating system had a "Good, but…" I'd pick it. I have three Inglot gel eyeliners, this is the first one I don't *love* in all caps. Like other reviewers have stated, it's soft and goes on like a dream. There's a violet base to this shade of brown. It seems to bring out the green in my brown eyes, which I love. This shade, 89, doesn't seem to agree with my lids. I prime first, yet it goes on patchy. I find myself doing a lot of cat-eye correction after the first coat has set, that or just filling / cleaning up with a felt tip liner. If I don't set it, it'll melt. I would recommend this to a friend and will continue to buy these liners for myself.
Control freak? Buy this brush!
I was pretty dubious about this brush the first few times I used it. I was pushing gel liner between my lashes, coming in from the top down. Once I switched to lining upward from my upper water line, I felt like I had complete control over the placement. I don't use it every day, as it takes me about 30% more time to get the job done. It's the first liner brush I reach for when I'm going for 'perfect' rather than 'acceptable.' With some time and practice, it'll probably become my go-to brush. I loved it so much, I bought one for a girlfriend too.
I'm wearing glitter liner-- and it's only on my lids!
That alone is worth $9. I liked the packaging, price and great reviews. They're all true. The only thing I would add is I needed to set this with a little finishing powder. Otherwise it melts it with my slightly oily lids and transfers the line on my lashes to my upper lid. This is definitely a very fun addition to my makeup case.
This changed my feelings about gel liners
I purchased this based on another Beautylish user review. The liner is very soft, goes on smoothly and is really opaque. I applied a light coat to white out my lids then tried out some highly pigmented matte and shimmer shadows. The color payoff was incredible. This is well worth $12.
My eyes were irritated when I applied this to my waterline, but this could be user error; as I've never used gel in this location before.
Makes me want more Billy B brushes
I've used this brush for its intended purpose a handful of times. I don't wear mascara on my lower lashes most of the time. I feel like I'm in control of placement and product load using this brush. I use it most for mixing and pushing black cake liner between my upper lashes. It's the brush that's worked best for me since recently learning this technique.
