Beauty Product Reviews
God's gift to lips all over the world.
It's awesome.
Okay, that's too short a review.
It's SUPER awesome.
I've always thought Eyeko products are hit-and-miss, but the balms are really great. I have Strawberry and Cherry (got Cherry for free, actually, thanks to the Eyeko promo) and the colours are insane. Cherry gives lips that hint of reddish freshness. At the risk of sounding weird, it makes lips looks lush and juicy. Strawberry's a nice pink, not too bright or garish but just that right touch of healthy "real" lips.
The only real problem is the size. It's so fat I have to watch it while applying or I'll end up smearing it all over :)
Quick, fuss-free makeup remover.
I've tried not to get into the Shu Uemura cleansing oil craze, but the blasted SA gave me five large sachets to try :( Now I can't use any other cleansing oil because none of them will ever be better. Shu Uemura really deserves the hype. It cleanses without tugging the skin, removes makeup easily and it doesn't leave skin dry or yucky. I can't speak for the other variants, of course, because the High Performance one is all I've tried, but really, This is tops. One star off for the price :(
Best concealer combo ever.
I got this with the Flawless Face kit, and I didn't like it initially. It seemed dry (the Camouflage part) and the corrector for the under eye area seemed too light for my skin. Turns out I wasn't applying it correctly.
The corrector is in salmon: perfect for correcting dark under eyes. I use a nice concealer brush and just apply it very, very lightly. It really works to make me look less like the undead.
As for the camouflage, the only way to use it is to apply with the LM Secret Camouflage brush. With light, feathery touches, the coverage is perfect and really stays put.
I just don't know if you can purchase this pot on its own (minus the kit). Mine's halfway done so I guess I'll find out soon enough.
Very good and fuss-free moisturiser
S&G makes really good moisturisers. Catch a Wrinkle in Time is easy to use, non-greasy and sinks in quickly. The effect is immediate. Skin is plumped up and looks very healthy. I use this day and night because there's no SPF. That might be a con for a lot of people, but I like my products separate, the better for me to mix and match as I like. Can't vouch for the anti-ageing part yet, though.
Great face base, doubles as sun care.
I use the beige one :)
This works very well as a face base, really makes my face look smooth and even. At first I didn't know how to use this because the mousse texture really stumped me. It seemed like the texture made it very difficult to spread this on my face.
After a few uses, however, it got a lot better and I could easily smooth the mousse on my face. I can't use too little, because then it would get sticky and drag. Once I got the hang of it, I figured out how to smooth it on and it worked really well after that :)
Holy Grail Eyelash Curler!!! <-- deserves three exclamation points.
This is hands down the best eyelash curler ever ever.
I like curled lashes but I hate mascara, so this one is perfect for me. It doesn't pinch my eyes and it gets all my lashes in one go. No need for mascara. My curled lashes last on their own for more than eight hours :)
Great boost of colour and texture is beautiful, not sticky.
I've got this in both Chihuahua and Scandal, but I love the latter more. I was afraid of trying red lipsticks, so I tried out this gloss first. Best idea ever. It gave me the brightening almost-tomato red colour that I wanted. Also, the texture means I don't have to worry about it getting into the lines on my lips and bleeding.
BONUS: it's not sticky at all!
