Beauty Product Reviews
When applied w/high quality brushes and built up gradually, they get the job done!
For color selection on a budget, these shadows get the job done *with* the right brushes. When used with the ELF brushes the shadows don't work as well as when used with higher quality brushes (I used MAC). They also need to be built up and layered if you want more pop. They are a bit chalky and grainy so there is fallout. Primer improves the color depth. I have found that some of the colors 'muddy' together canceling each other out, so that's something to watch out for. You get what you pay for and these work for those who can't spend a lot on higher end palettes but want to play with color. Overall you can achieve decent results. Wouldn't recommend these for photo shoots.
Midnight Cowboy - Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil
I love this shadow pencil to put a highlight on the inner corners of the eye, and sometimes as a base for a bronzed shimmery look, and it can be used as a base for a smokey eye too. It is very sparkly and gorgeous on, it looks like something you would see on J-Lo and because of that I used it all summer to create bronzed summer shimmery eyes and ALWAYS got complimented. The only downside is ease of use, every once in a while you may get a pencil that is not as smooth so doesn't glide easily as it says.
Strut and Birthday Suit are the best!
I love these cream shadow's, in my opinion they are the best cream shadows out there, I have yet to try Chanel's new version though. Strut is amazing for a Smokey Eye, you only have about a little under a minute to work with it, but that should be plenty. I usually put a nice thick line along the lashes then blend up lightly to create my shape, once I have it if I want to add a bit more for a stronger smokey eye, I do. Birthday suit is great for a natural look, or as a base for a bronzed summer eye.
Elongates lashes, blackest black, smudge proof LOVE IT!
This is hands down the best mascara I have EVER used and now that I've found it I will never use another. Without a messy white primer, it does what it promises and instantly elongates my lashes and right away they pop, are super long, blackest black and make my eyes gorgeous. It is highly pigmented which reduces the need for multiple layers (if you do more you get more oomph!) and does not clump. You may have to shell out $22 for a tube, but it's HUGE and long, well worth the money and has a great applicator too. The way I apply is I start at the base of my lashes and "wiggle" through up and out to coat every lash. I always scrape the extra mascara off the tip of the brush back into the tube before I apply. Buy the waterproof, works amazing and it has never smudged on me or flaked ever. I am in love with this mascara.
