Beauty Product Reviews
Not For Me
I really wanted to love this treatment, especially after reading everyone else's rave reviews. I'm 31 with incredibly oily skin, large pores over my nose and cheeks, and tons of hyperpigmentation and dark spots. I'm also very fair (MAC NW13 for reference) so the dark spots really stand out. I don't tend to have sensitive skin, either, and I've never used a product that caused any kind of reaction before other than getting chemical peels from the dermatologist's office. I was debating between DE's serum and Good Genes, and went for the Good Genes since I love ordering from Beautylish. I started out using it every other night and it dried out my skin so badly and turned me in to a bright red tomato. It is the dead of winter, so I'm hoping the extreme dryness may partially be from the season. I'm not going to lie and say I love the scent but I'd rather have no fragrance added and have the medicinal-ish scent that it has than have a ton of unnecessary fragrance added to the product. As for the price, skincare is one of those things that I've never really had a problem paying for, and there's definitely a ton more effective products out there. For me right now though, it's just making my skin way too dry and sensitive, which is honestly something I can say has never happened to me before. I think I might try a different product for now and maybe try Good Genes again in the summer when the air isn't sucking all of the moisture out of my skin. I'm upset it didn't work for me, because I really wanted to love it!
