The reflectivity of the light blush did not work on textured blush area
This is my first Wayne Goss blush palette, so I had no idea what type of formula this will be , I have seen reviews saying the blush formula would be a matt but not flat, so thought it might work for me but unfortunately, although the reflectivity in the blush is attractive and will probably work for most people, for me it is unusable as a blush and here is why. I have rosacea and my cheek area in the center front extending outward towards ears, where i'd put blush, has a texture of an orange outter skin so when I put anything reflective in that area it instantly becomes very prominent and very very unatractive and this blush was no exception. In case anyone has a similar issue, the new TOM FORD Shade & Illuminate Blush Duo is perfection for bluring . Also, the color itself is very light, when reflectivety is added it makes the color even lighter, so if I look straight on it looks ok, I see the soft pink blush and if I turn my head slightly and catch the day light, it is pearly-whitish and emphasizing the pores and orange peel skin. I wonder if it's because the blush color is too light for me. The highlighter is beautiful and worked well.
Lantana and Honeysuckle are deeper in person than online
I generally love these and often buy them but this time the colors are much darker in person than online (Lantana, Honeysuckle) and on top of that I already have very pigmented lips and olive-green complexion these colors look even deeper and brighter on me, like a bright brick and deep brown which is something I would never wear because anything bright looks terrible on me. Formula is great, as usual with these, the colors are definitely deeper than they appear.
Despite the measurements, smaller than expected
They are made of a very good quality material, I really like the matte black and wood design. Despite following the provided measurements with a ruler and comparing them to my other brushes, I still found them smaller than expected. The circumference and the smooth finish and the very light weight make them hard to hold and use for me, they are small, thin, light and so smooth that they're slippery. I can't think of what to use the mini base brush for, the classic face keeps slipping out of my hand, there is something about how thin it is and all the weight being at the hairs. I really wanted to love these and I wish they were just a bit bigger and longer but they are not for my hands.
Nice, quality face cover
The material is very nice and so is the quality , feels nice on, it's adjustable the only issue I have with this mask is that I found that it's harder to breathe in on compared to a regular surgical mask. I think the material is less breathable. I found myself having to adjust the nose strap so that it's more loose because it was hard to breathe through the material if it fit snugly.
Beautiful
Love the creativity behind this, the colors , the presentation, the packaging, the mattes. The shimmers I find flaky and on the subtle side, just like in the Sunrise palette, it's almost a must to use them wet to keep them smooth and not flaking, I find myself needing that moisture to smooth the flakes so that they give color and density. As someone who first fell in love with initial ND shimmer formula, it's hard to love this new formula. To me, perfection would have been if the shimmers were closer to the initial ND formula.
Small, cheap packaging
Online it looks very attractive but in person the package is very small, lightweight plastic, not at all like the typical Tom Ford package. I didn't get to try the product because I couldn't get passed the packaging.
closer to the original Bronzing Powder in Terra
This version of Terra is more like the original Bronzing powder formula which is no longer available in the large compact. It is more neutral in shade, creamier, unlike the Ultimate Bronzer version of Terra which is more orange. I find that this version is more pigmented because it feels wetter and takes less building up than the Bronzing Powder does. When I first got the compact it looked like it would be too light for me but after using it with a dense brush it worked well on my medium warm skin tone.
wow, very happy that I was able to get these
When I first saw that these were coming, I wanted to get them because of the shapes of the larger three brushes, they looked like some of the shapes that I've been missing from my collection. However, the fact that these looked dyed made me think that they will be more scratchy than the undyed goat hair, isn't it a sad byproduct of the dying process? I decided to get them anyway and hope for the best. I have very sensitive skin which burns and turns red if the brush is even slightly scratchy. These brushes are very soft, there is absolutely no hint of scratchiness. They are soft yet sturdy and pick up hard to pick up products. I also love the fact that these are tapered at the bottom, it makes them look more elegant as opposed to a blunt bottom and also take less space when stored upright in a container. There is the black and red handle, a powerful and beautiful combination. The quality is superb, it is evident that a lot of thought was put into these, Sonia did a brilliant job and I am looking forward to more masterpieces from her.
Very good quality, held up well over the years
I got this set when it just came out, years back and after a wash, my brushes still look like the picture after daily use over the years. the handles, ferrules, crimps, still intact after numerous washes and drying with the brush mesh to help keep their shape.
Bad experience with this brush
I have many goat hair brushes, from Chikuhodo and Wayne Goss, and this one is the worst goat hair brush I've ever had, here is why. This is the scratchiest brush I've ever had, it actually burns my face to use it, I've had it for a about 5 months and it already looks like it's ten years old, I washed it twice the same way I washed all my other goat hair brushes for years. The brush handle already has two big 0.5cm chips and one small one I have no idea from what (the lacquer has chipped off) , possibly from dropping it to the floor?. I have never seen a brush deteriorate so badly ever and to see this happen in only a few months to a 70 dollar brush is mind blowing to me. I also have the Sculpt 4 from this brand and it's doing much better than this one, it is softer, the hair still looks like new and the handle is undamaged.
