Beauty Product Reviews
Cold and clogs pores
Before you read my review just keep in mind that this is speaking from my place and experience with this product, and my sensitive skin issues just happen to part of that experience. If you're one of the blessed, then pay no head to this review, this product offers great versatility as well as quality in its reef safe formula (Hawaii Reef Compliant Act 104 -if you haven't already please please consider donating to Maui's fire relief or sign a legal petition to prevent corporations and real estate agencies from buying out the land of locals who were affected by the fires in Lahaina.) it's non-aerosol, so it's great if you're doing any fire performances this year and a portion of the proceeds does go to skin cancer charities.
For a day at the beach, this might be to the go-to grab for you. Got dirt or sand on your hands? No problem, give it a shake, hold away 6 inches and spray -for sun protection, bask's got you covered. I was really looking forward to reviewing this product but after so many days of trying it, I have to say that this is NOT a face product for me.
Honestly, it's a little heart breaking. I like the brand and the product, on scalp, hair and body there was no problem outside of the cold blast from the can (but that might be an awesome relief on hot days) but I've never had any sun products clog my pores as consistently as this one.
I'm keeping the bottle to attack my forgetful friends at music festivals but as of right now I don't intend on repurchasing this one. (Except for maybe fire performances.)
Beautiful brightening pink hue and refreshing scent
The formula is easy to work with and doesn't pill under layering (of the same product; a relief when working outdoors for long 10 hour days.) It's humidity and sweat resistance has been tested and it does NOT melt into my eyes while working over steam tables during the summer. BUT the formula itself does not blend 100% dry, it provides good tack to grab pigments, and powders, BUT it's also very good at catching dirt, dust, bugs and just about anything else that might be flying by while working outside. The pink hue does wonders for adding a subtle hint of color correction to my yellow undertones, and the scent is a lovely cool peppermint (much preferred over the blast of eau de generic sunscreen.) It's light, breathable and the scent doesn't get into your mouth like some strong scents tend to do. The design on the bottle and lid could use a little modification. The cap went loose and spilled half of my pink potion on all of the inside of my purse. So either travel lightly, or keep this bottle on your dresser at home. As a whole, it's a good product despite the cons I listed and honestly, I'm so sad to see this item gone from Beautylish Sephora, and Ulta but I will gladly restock my personal supply once it's available again.
Stay lovely, stay fine. Get money and thrive, honey!
I actually really enjoyed this but
Just to side with caution, the creator might want to rethink the name of this product. Unless there was extensive research to prove that the marketing claims have any kind of evidentiary standing an unsavory person might potentially sue the creator because this actually violates the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA)
I would definitely buy this again. But please be careful. (I did have to oversee a case for a bakery that got in trouble for saying that "love" was one of their ingredients.)
Gorgeous but fragile!
Do you know what heartbreak feels like when you open a brand new $42 palette and see one of the pans already obliterated? I unfortunately do. Luckily for me my sales person was more than understanding and was only too happy to exchange it for a new (unbroken) one. I didn't even tell him what happened. He just looked at woman who looked like she was about to erupt into bitter bitter tears, and noticed that she was holding this palette. He asked, "Is it damaged?" Apparently this has been a reoccurring experience with this particular product because of the saturation of pigment.
True to his claims, the pigment is dense and vibrant. But the powder itself is surprisingly light, it just glides on. (Another possible explanation for the mystery of the exploded pan?) The application is ridiculously soft and leaves no heavy or bulky texture whatsoever. These colors allow a lot of room for creativity and sensibility. I'm proud to have this palette in my collection. It's definitely worth the $42 IF YOU ARE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHILE HOLDING IT!
