Ive had a decade of experience with sponges. None of them have ever gotten like this. I wash after every use and put them in the sun to ventilate well. If its impossible to deep clean with a soap then its not worth it. I had 4-6 uses and last night i was about to use it and i was met with this. The reason i didnt notice it is because i have them kn a shelf where my gaze doesnt naturally go to. That being said, before it growing mold, it performed beautifully.

As much as I love the zombie look..

It's an alright color, the formula is nice but the smell got me dizzy, it reeked of ammonia. :\
