TOP SHELF FOUNDATION
I was gifted this and didn't expect to like this as much as I do because I read so many negative reviews of this foundation on other websites. I LOVE IT, I've tried nearly all of the highly recommended foundations on the market, but this blows 99% of them out of the waters. This gives you medium to full coverage, while looking natural, even in daylight - that's everything I want in a foundation, basically. #4 is also a PERFECT match for my Chinese skin tone, it leans yellow but doesn't overdo it. I apply it with a beautyblender and it doesn't sheer out too much like some foundations do. I cannot recommend this enough, I love this!
Best daily pampering product
I can see myself repurchasing this if not for its hefty price tag. You massage the bluish balm into your skin and it turns into a colorless oil. I'm not sure if it's meant to be aromatherapeutic as well, but inhaling its scent relaxes me at the end of the day. This luxury balm makes my nighttime skincare regime very spa-like. Lovely!
Meh
I wanted to love this so badly considering all the hype surrounding it. I've tried to make it work for me several times, but this manages to look heavy on my skin, yet still doesn't perfect it. I've had better luck with other full coverage foundations that make my skin more flawless-looking.
Gorgeous!
I have tried my fair share of highlighters, and this is definitely an "in between" highlighter in regards to its intensity. Think the love child of Becca's Champagne Pop (blind-aliens-on-mars intense) and Kevyn Aucoin's Candlelight (soft, glow-from-within subtle). It is a solid daily glam highlight.
Flakey mess
I needed a two-in-one day time moisturizer + sunscreen and I thought that this was a safe bet. I don't like this AT ALL. It looked fine on my first application, and then it started to ball and flake throughout the day. I tried it underneath makeup - with ten minutes of absorption in between - and it became a flakey mess the second I bounced the product onto my skin using my sponge/beauty blender. I moisturize and exfoliate religiously, and I've never had this problem with any other moisturizer, even my $5 ones. I'm so disappointed.
Zit killing machine
I like this a lot! I don't break out too often, maybe one to two pimples a month, but this gets rid of them COMPLETELY within 12 to 48 hours. I didn't expect my white-head pimples to go away that quickly, but I was so pleasantly surprised. I love the packaging too, so slick and convenient.
Not life-changing
I just finished a bottle of this, and while it didn't irritate or dry my skin out, it didn't do anything particularly great either. It's not moisturizing, so it was just an extra sweep of cleansing in my routine.
Game changer!
I LOVE THIS BRUSH SO MUCH. People don't talk about this enough. Dare I say it makes my skin look even better than the beautyblender does? It blends foundation in just a few strokes and doesn't soak up any product so you still get excellent coverage, leaving you with a very airbrushed base. I got minimal shedding, maybe one or two bristles, but I don't mind that too much because even my $190 Tom Ford brush sheds. I highly recommend this, it's soooo worth the price tag!
Good, except for Powder Brush
The packaging drew me in first - the pink handles are so pretty! I love the Blush Brush, it is densely packed so it gives so much pigmentation to even the less bright and pigmented blushes I have. I use the large Eyeshadow Brush for my Cle de Peau stick concealer instead, and it works brilliantly. I haven't tried the lip brush. Lastly, I wanted to love the Powder Brush but it's my least favorite because of how much it sheds. It sheds (nearly) every time I use it, before and after I washed it. I was slightly disappointed, but it still distributes product nicely and blends it in well.
Not perfect
I love that it dries completely matte and it lasts all day. However, my main problem with this eyeliner is that it is so liquid-y when you first apply it and it does not dry down quickly enough - this results in smudge town if you so much as blink within the first ten seconds of application. I found a way to apply it while doing that glamorous "half-blink" face, but I have to be very careful.
