I have clients with tight kinky curls and I've found that the HAI flatiron (blue plates) will get their hair smooth and straight. When I use it to compete I don't need a product for shine because the hair is so smooth that it glistens. I've tried a coworker's chi and it didn't even come close to what mine can do. Hope this helps.
