Beauty Product Reviews
Loved at first, quality worsens over time
I bought these three months ago. When I first opened them, they performed well. I got Coral, Bronze & Wild (4,5,6). Wild (green) was a little patchy, but all performed well at first.
Then the 2nd time I used them a month later they started to get patchy. It is now only three months later and they are all patchy and do not go on smoothly at all. I store my makeup in a cool room, out of direct heat and take care of my makeup items, as these are speedy items. They are now incredibly streaky. So disappointed in these Sisley products, as I spent close to ~$180 on these. Would NOT recommend. You will waste your money. I completely regret buying these.
Unique multi-chromes for your nails
Every time I wear this, I get complimented on the color. Depending on the angle & light, it shifts from blue, green, teal and a little of gold and silver. I love it. Will likely get more colors from the brand. Lasting time is better than average. Just lay down a base coat & top coat and will last over a week. Highly recommend!
Sadly disappointing
I wanted to give Sisley a try, as it is high-end luxury, and a lot of YTubers have reviewed this compact. I've been using compacts from Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier, and Pat McGrath. This is $112, and it doesn't perform any better than drugstore compacts, and sadly the packaging, feels even cheaper than drugstore powder compacts. Definitely not worth the $112. I actually think it was irritating my skin more, as my skin was redder and more textured at the end of the day. Sadly this is a second fail of Sisley for me, not warranting the high-price point. I'll stick with Chantecaille, Chanel, Tom Ford, etc.
One of my favorite brushes
One of my HG eyeshadow brushes, great for creases. The brushes on the #4 is softer then the set, maybe squirrel hair? I would likely buy another #4 in the future, as it's a workhorse brush. It looks smaller when you first get it, but as you use it more, and wash, it fluffs out, and works well to lay-down and blow out eyeshadows.
Softest, best brush set for hooded/smaller eyelids
I held off on buying these for so long, but with the annual gift card event, I went for it. Wayne Goss brushes are very soft. This is the best eye set for smaller eyelid space and/or hooded eyes. They lay down shadows in a softer, classier way, not like the heavy, showy YTuber eye makeup. These are my everyday set, along with Rephr brushes. Highly recommend. I also have Sonia G brushes, but find they are better for showier eyeshadows like Natasha Denona, Huda, etc.
Best night time cream
I use this as my nighttime cream. It is amazing. I have very sensitive skin : rosacea & eczema and this has been my HG in Keeping my face hydrated, radiant and youthful looking. It’s pricey but has been lasting me into 4-5 months. A little goes a long way!
Had high hopes, didn't work for me
I really looked forward to this palette. Biba is considered the holy grail of neutral palettes, but is not truly neutral. More of a warms natural. I tried to make this work, but all the colors/looks ended up the same on me. I think the problem is that all the warm, brown tone are too close to my medium/skin tone, so it just looks like my eyes are bruised and tired. The other reason I don't prefer this palette, is that I found I had to work to buff out the formula in Biba more than any other ND palette I own. It is nothing like the Lila palette or her steller mini or smaller 5 pan palettes. I think if one is lighter in skin tone or fairer than me (I'm a DIOR 3WO, Armani Luminous 6.5, Tom Ford Sable/Tawny), it will look great on you. This was $129 and for this price point, it better be a fantastic HG palette! I much prefer Viseart Neutral Mattes 01 & Neutral Mattes Milieu 12-pan palettes. Check Viseart mattes out, as they are so easy to put on, with little to no blending, and I find I grab for these Viseart palettes more to combine & complement other palettes in my collection.
Not the greatest CC cream, too much fragrance
I had really high hopes for this CC cream by Sisley. It is very expensive. The color undertone did not suit my face. I'm an NC40 MAC, or DIOR 4WO and the color was okay, but the undertone was too peach and pinky so it made me look weird. Also, the fragrance on my face was so overwhelming I couldn't even bear to have it on for an hour hoping the scent would fade. I just kept smelling like old lady perfume. It is also very very sheer and light for CC cream for others who are curious. So if you want super sheer and fragrant CC coverage and have a lighter skin-tone, go for it. For me, this was not brown-girl-friendly make up and the scent gave me a headache.
Perfect eye set for hooded and/or smaller eyes
I own several other Sonia G pro brushes. They are great for buffing out, but harder for smaller details on my hooded eye shape. Yes this set is very expensive. And I've been using for awhile, and this set might just become my staple set to use every day. The brush shapes and sizes really are smaller than her pro series, and are great for getting into smaller areas and my hooded eyelids. Would replace these in a heartbeat if I ever lost these! Sonia G. are my favorite brushes, with a small combo of Wayne Goss brushes for small/hooded eyelids.
Love love LOVE this neutral palette for me
I was on the fence to buy Milieu or Neutral Mattes 1. I have no regrets, as I have trouble with more traditional neutral showing up on my medium/tan skin tone. This is a gorgeous ride or die every day palette for me. This palette convince me that Viseart mattes are truly the best mattes on the market. No primer needed and they go on and blend with little to no work. I don't have much time to fuss in the morning getting ready for work, and this palette is a workhorse for me, even more than ND Biba palette, where although it is overall gorgeous, I have to work longer and spend more time blending out ND Biba mattes. If you are a WOC looking for neutral, basic ride or die palette, get this one. I use this almost every day in combo with other palettes.
