An absolute perfect set for Hooded Eyes - Sonja G vs Wayne Goss Eye Set?

So if you're like me, you're wondering - which eye set should I get? I wondered that and ended up buying both during the Gift Card event. After using the both for several weeks now with different eye shadows, I've come to understand their strengths.

First off, I have small hooded asian eyes. I also prefer a blended look and don't really do any cut creases. If you're anything of the above, then I would recommend the Wayne Goss Eye set over the Sonja G Pro Eye set. I love the Sonja G Pro Eye Set, but I found the smaller brushes heads in the Wayne Set more useful.

Brush 16 Large Eyeshadow Crease Brush - this huge fluffy brush I use to lightly powder the sides of my nose, under my eye, its just prefect size to fit there and so soft. It is too big for my crease, but perfect for precision application on my face of highlight and yet the highlight looks so soft.

Brush 17 Eye Shadow Crease Brush - It let's me lay down a transition color and blend it out. I use it for all over blending and it works well for that. I don't use it for my crease, more like a blending brush.

Brush 18 eye Shadow Blending Brush - its flat head I like to use to throw down my lid shade, it picks up product so well especially with the zig zag motion. And it fits on my tiny lid space. I use the tip to add some color to my undereye and blend it out. Its also great for adding the pop of shimmer over the lid as well.

Brush 19 and 20 are my color workhorses because they are so small, they fit well on my tiny hooded eyes.

Brush 19 Eye Shadow Precision Blending Brush - I use to lay down my outer corner dark shade. Its very small brush point makes it so easy to be precise when you don't have that much room to work with. and little strokes lets you blend it out without making a huge mess.

Brush 20 Eye Shadow Smudging Brush - this is a prefect crease brush. its fits in my small crease and blends everything out. its small head means I don't get it everywhere. And gives me a more precise application.

Now I really love my Sonja G Pro Eye Set, and I do feel Sonja G brushes feels just a tad bit softer than Wayne Goss's brushes. However, its so minor a difference, honestly, that if you had to pick just one set and you have eyes like mine, I recommend starting with the Wayne Goss Eye Set first. If you can get both, then I highly recommend doing that! You'll find they complement each other very well.

Wonderfully Soft, Huge Upgrade, Worth the Price

For reference, I have small hooded, Asian eyes. These brushes are easy to clean. I run them over a microfiber cloth each day to take the color off and wash them once a month. They are very soft and perfect for sensitive skin.

Pencil Pro - Very useful brush for inner corner highlight and lower lash line color.

Worker Pro - I use this to pack on my main lid color and glide on the shimmers as well.

Builder Pro - I find I don't really reach for this over the Worker Pro. I wish that there was another blender pro in this series instead.

Crease Pro - Great for putting colors in the crease and working out the transition shade

Blender Pro - By far my most favorite brush of the series. My workhorse. I will probably pick up one more of this brush as I feel two is a good number for me to have with the many uses I have for it.

Final verdict - once you get these, you'll never go back cheaper brushes. They are well worth the price and a bargain for the quality you get.

Beautiful Palette but best for Fair to Light Complexions

I don't own any Hourglass products so this was my first purchase.

This is best for fair to light skin tones. You'd really have to build for medium skin tones for that bronzer. For deep tones, the bronzer serves as a finishing powder at best. And I'm not sure if those light finishing powders would look good on deep skin (might look oddly ashy, I don't know). Someone with deep skin would give the best review of this.

I tried this palette on with no foundation, just skincare, Tatcha primer and a little bit of concealer (I mean really a little not youtube little) under my eye. I put this all over my face for a very subtle look and it was perfect. I felt like I had a filter on my face.

A little goes a long way. The more you cake on the crazier you'll look. this is not for anyone who wants blinding highlight or doll-cheeks. If you're into minimalistic, sort of natural skin look, then this is perfect!

If you do not own existing shades (there are and if you are fair to light, this palette is great for you. You get a good introduction with a little bit of everything from Hourglass. This is also a great travel palette. Even though I wish the pan size was a little bit larger (to fit in my bigger brushes)I felt it was worth the steep price tag.

I docked a star (and was tempted to dock another) for not having enough of a range for deep skin tones. There should have been a second palette for med-deep skin tones.

Mascara for your Brows - works best for minimal brow routine

I have medium brows. What does that mean? I don't have thick brows and I don't have really sparse brows. Realistically on a fast day when I don't want to mess with my brows, all I need to do is run this little thing over my brows and it gives me exactly what I need.

If I want to be extra that day, then I shape it a little with a pencil and concealer afterwards. But I find this a fast way to push all your brow hairs in place while give them a little thickness and color (I have brown brows). Just prefect for a natural look.

Are there other brow gels on the market (yes and I've tried them all from drugstore to even pricer) and so far this one is best one for me. I know that the price is alot, but what I'm paying for is that awesome brush that works better than any of the other brow brushes (those just make a mess on my face - I want fast not slow and steady). The formula is great too, but that brush is just the perfect size.

The original solid is ok, but the charcoal pro is better

I have both the original solid and the charcoal pro. The original removes makeup and is gentle for cleaning brushes, but it doesn't remove makeup gunk as throughly as I would like with less "scrubbing". The Beauty Blender Charcoal Pro (its a huge dark solid) works extremely well and I highly recommend that more. I use it to clean my brushes and it just takes the most stubborn of make up off brush and sponge very easily.

I can still use the original (still have some left) but cleaning is a longer task.

Saved my twice bleached hair!

I bleached my hair twice a year for two years and this is the product that saved it from being a hot mess - or more like a stringy dried straw mess. So i have ridiculously difficult hair to bleach, as in they have to use some very strong bleach and leave it there for half an hour to get the color out of my hair. I don't remember why I decided to try it but I did and I never looked back I use this liberally and it kept my strands soft and silky. I could always tell when I didn't use it when it got super straw and stringy.

I'm taking a break from bleaching so I don't need it (regular hair is oily frizz) except for sometimes when I use a tiny amount to tame my frizzy hair. Definitely try it out if you have damaged, colored, dry hair. It really works. A whole lot of hair products don't, but this is one of the good ones that actually does what it says.

My favorite Spring/Summer Palette - Vacation in a Box

This is my favorite ABH palette. It has the most unique color story and is extremely fun and playful. I can create colorful looks and neutral looks. My favorite color is...the WHITE! Why? Its so versatile! I love combining it with the strong colors to blend it into something muted that is perfect to wear during the day to work (yes to work!).

The white combined with some of the mattes and shimmers can make a lovely lilac color. I love combining colors in a palette to make new ones and honestly, if this palette didn't have the white, I probably would have not liked it as much.

My least favorite is the dark brown shade. I find it kind of meh and I wish it was a navy shade. I know why its there so you can use it to warm up the colors, but I don't think it works that well to do that for me. When I need a brown, I usually dip into a different palette to find the right one to satisfy that purpose.

I recommend getting this palette if you like colors and love playing with combinations. If you're a more neutral kinda gal, then this is not a good one for you. I'd recommend Sultry (my fav neutral palette).

Perfect for the Natasha Denona Newbie

I agree that there are repeat shades, that the palette is expensive, that there needs to be more variety in the shades within the palette, but even knowing that, I bought the palette anyway. I don't regret it.

If you don't own any other Natasha Denona palettes like me, then this is perfect one for you. The pan sizes are not gigantic like in her other palettes - it's just perfect. I love the 20's Gatsby color story. I can create a multitude of looks with just the palette or even more when I combine it with some of my other palettes.

The shades perform beautifully and I love working with them. They blend together well, layering on top to make different interesting colors which makes this palette even more versatile. I wish there were more of those lovely matte shadows in here. They are the star of the palette for me, even over her gorgeous shimmers.

Who is this not for? If you own all her other palettes, then I would pass on this. There will be so many dupes if not exactly the same shades from her other palettes that I don't think it justifies the price tag. Unless you're a collector or you want to use this as a travel palette (perfect size).

I don't have any of her other palettes, but using this one has made me much more curious to try more of her brand. If that was her intention and market, then I think she succeeded! At least with me :)
