Beauty Product Reviews
An absolute game changer!
I started getting into makeup about 2 years ago (about 24), and on my makeup journey I've went through many trial and errors. After a while you start getting comfortable with the makeup you buy and then you stick with certain products that you wholeheartedly use everyday. I've learned to put my expenses on makeup to a minimum and put more of my investment into quality tools and brushes. This is my first every Sonia G. products as well as my first every natural goat hair brush and you better buckle up for a ride my friends.
This brush blends bronzer and highlight into the skin like butter. It blends effortlessly and mixes in my bronzer so well into my cheekbones that I have a smooth airbrush finish. The bristle are extremely soft, but sustainable enough to hold onto product and pigment when your gliding on powders without causing any type of patchiness. It blends in highlighters in a way a stippling brush performs and gives your skin that natural glow when applied to areas where you want the light to hit you just right. As a disclaimer, I DESPISE fan brushes. The absolute bain of my existence; however, I can say the performance and the quality put into this brush has caused me to rethink my previous philosophy (or caused me to have a biased because now I refuse to buy any other brush) The size is perfect when gliding from cheekbones to forehead and it creates that beautiful warm look onto the skin.
I can understand why people would not want a natural hair brush due to ethical reasons, 100%. For those who are willing to give it a go, put your money towards quality brushes. Makeup comes and goes, makeup expires and goes bad over time, makeup is not forever. Brushes are, especially when you take care of them. Put some time into researching about these types of brushes and make your judgement on that, but I promise you. You will not be disappointed, and you will have a tool that will last you a long time when you do so.
Year long wait? WORTH IT.
I want to start off by saying that I am an average lover of neutrals warm brown shades. Give me just a palette of different shades of brown and I AM IN; however, I wanted to try and experiment and try to see if I could take myself out of my comfort zone a little (a lot). I don't ever practice with bold colors. The most I was comfortable with using were dark burgundy shades (that looked brown in tone) and maybe "stepping out of the box" with a little orange (wild, I know). So I cracked after watching JS for about a year, listening and reading MANY reviews, watching swatches and tutorials, I decided to crack. And I am so happy I did.
This palette is beautiful and pictures and swatches don't do it justice (I say as I insert a picture). The way the shadows/pigments blend like butter into each other, the color payoff, the actual quality of the product in general, the packaging, the attention to detail and care put behind each shade. This is 100% worth the money. Personally, I have extremely baby sensitive skin, and the pressed pigments did not irritate, break out, or leave staining on my skin (disclaimer that I do double cleanse). My eye shadow looks last me up to 16 hours without the shadows or shimmers breaking or fading. I honestly NEVER thought that a red/burgundy/purple/plum look would ever look good on me, but I was completely wrong. If you're willing please consider reaching out for this one. I've never had so many people compliment my eye looks until I wore this sucker.
