About Me
My name is Stephen Gordonour. I work as a editor resume for people who want to change their job. An objective is a section intended to describe the jobseeker’s motivation. Its main idea is to show that you are targeted to a particular job in a particular company, not just to any job. The principle of “Objective” section drafting is based on recruiters desire to provide high employee retention rates. Nevertheless, most recruiters consider resume objectives an outdated practice. This opinion is caused by the fact that cover letters are much more effective means to show personal motivation and passion to work. That is why most modern jobseekers prefer to begin their resumes with a section called “Professional Summary”. This brief statement usually consists of 3, 4, or 5 rows telling about the candidate’s experience and skills. Conciseness is the greatest advantage of professional summaries if compared with objectives. Summary statements are more informative and able to tell the applicant’s career story in a few seconds. This fact is extremely important because an average recruiter spends less than 10 seconds to read the applicant’s summary and formulate the first impression.
