Burning Face!

I have no idea what is in this, but my face is burning right now. I received this as a sample in my package. I was excited to try this but never got around to it since I wasn't done with my favorite, Take the Day Off. I gave it two stars because it did take off my makeup really well and it didn't sting my eyeballs. I used my usual sensitive-skin routine afterward, but I knew once I sprayed on my soothing toner there was trouble. My face was red and inflamed. Now, 30 minutes later, my face is still red and inflamed but now it burns around my eyes. Dang it. I really wanted to like this. Oh well, back to my holy grail.

My Everything

Didn't purchase here, but.. I bought this brush a few years ago. I was looking for the biggest, fluffiest brush I could find. I wanted something with barely any edges, not too dense. This brush is everything I've ever wanted. I use this for bronzer, a little hourglass glowy sheen, face powder, and sometimes blush. It blends everything together perfectly. Easy to clean and doesn't take forever to dry. I will always own this brush. It is my everything!

THE Perfect Bronzer...

I have pale, cool-toned skin and it is so difficult to find a bronzer that doesn't make me look orange or look like I put on WAY too much bronzer. You know that look, where your head is a completely different color than your body.. yea..

I was worried this bronzer was going to be more pink/red and I thought "well, let me try it. If it sucks, maybe I could use it as a shadow."

This bronzer is perfection. Not only does it look natural on my skin, but I can build it up without looking cakey or "too much". It gives a sunburn/bronze look to the skin with its pink tinge. It's not shiny, but it gives a nice glow. LOVE this stuff..

NOW I love it!

I'm a foundation addict and watching Tati suggest this on her YouTube channel just made me want to buy this. So, I did. I tried it for the first time with a damp beauty blender, patted it on, and after looking at my face I thought "Oh dear god, Tati, you did me dirty!"

I was so disappointed, but I decided to try harder. Maybe it was user error. I started doing research. Apparently, this palette is magical and I was using it all wrong. After watching Kevin James Bennett's video on YouTube about how to apply this foundation, I couldn't wait to try it again. He made it look so easy!

I applied moisturizer to my face, I mixed my colors and a drop of marula oil on the back of my hand, I applied it to my face with my fingers, used a dry, dense brush to spread evenly, and applied more if more coverage was needed. I used it straight from the palette for spot and undereye concealing. I powdered everything and stepped back to see how it looked.

Hot d*mn! Sure enough, this foundation looks amazing. Great color, great coverage, customizable, no cakiness, looks natural and lasts a long time. Literally, everything I've ever wanted in a foundation. I can't believe it's taken me this long to find such a classic foundation.

The reason I gave this four stars is because there's no explanation that there's a lot more that goes into this foundation than just putting it on your face. This is considered a "Pro" palette and it wasn't made to pat a beauty blender into it and apply it to your face. Knowing what I know now, I cringe at the idea. So, some things to consider with this palette:

-Don't use a wet beauty blender! Use dry if want to use your sponge. -This is a wax based foundation, water and wax don't mix. -There's no need for a primer. Wax foundations work just fine on unadulterated skin. -Moisturize your face before application. -Mix on the back of your hand. The warmth will melt everything together for a nice application. -Once you're done manipulating the colors on your face, set it with powder, preferably a translucent one. I've never been a fan of setting my makeup, but you need to with wax foundation. Otherwise, it slides and moves and wipes off.

I hope this helps. Color on, ladies and gentlemen!
