larger one sheds...smaller one cuts!

After 3 washes, the larger brush still sheds, the smaller one is just so so, because of the angle design and less density than usual highlighter brush--when you used at wrong direction, the ferrule will CUT your FACE!

million stars for customer service, 4.5 for brush

well, first of all, the best CS ever! i thought nordstrom set pretty high standards, beautylish made the bar even higher! now back to the review of the brush itself: i do have plenty of high end brushes especially for powder foundations and loose powders, for some reason i could not find “ the one” to achieve the natural look i wanted until this— so glad i got it before it’s out of stock yet again. now the reason it got a 4.5 instead of 5 is the handle. i do like the thicker and chunky handle, the problem is the length, too long for my liking, i wish it’s about 150mm instead of 170mm, after buffering my hand hurts—always room for improvement, Sonia:).

in a nut shell, one swipe you will have 2 half broken lipstick, $40 GONE, customer service is not helpful either, AVOID for all cost, i will NEVER PURCHASE THIS AGAIN!

overrated nah product...

this is like the first review i've ever written, after hearing so much about these brushes, i decided to "try" one, GREAT decision! NOT that great of the brush at all--maybe you just switch from the synthetic to natural hair, maybe, but to me, once i tried these "Japanese made" from Sonia, i was truly DISAPPOINTED, if it was not for the beautiful handle color and her passion for brushes i would give the brush a solid 2 star for trying. okay enough of that, here is the reason why-- the design was so so, she tried to make it a multifunctional brush, but it's only good in concept, one really CAN NOT do it all, the thickness was the main problem, too thick to do the detail work, and too much hair for the laying down a thin layer of base color, and when you try to turn to certain angle, it poke and scratch the lip like crazy, not comparable with other saikoho goat hair brush at all. i really wanted to make it work, so i tried and tried and played with it for almost every other day since i got it--no luck. Now i can only use for taking off the color that are too intense b/c of the amount of the hair it has, so that is 1 star, 2 star for the handle color as i mentioned, 3 star just for Sonia. that conclude my review--still have 2 months to decide if i want to keep it or not...
