Beauty Product Reviews
The small angular shape of the brush head is ideal for precise application of powder blush, bronzer or contour. The combination of dyed and undyed saikoho goat hair, it has the perfect amount of gripping power and flexibility, which applies just the right amount of product and blends effectively so it looks seamless. I also like this brush because it has an airiness to it, which feels incredibly soft on the skin. My favourite way to use this brush is to apply demi matte and satin powder blushes, because it looks so natural and flawless.
Perfection!
This brush is simply perfect for a flawless application of both cream and liquid products. As with other brushes in the Sonia G range, the craftsmanship, design and functionality of this brush is first class.
The mix of undyed sokoho goat hair and synthetic bristles feels so soft and gentle on the skin, and blends both cream and liquid products effortlessly. The end results were flawless with both foundation and cream contour, there was no patchiness or streaks, just beautiful, even coverage that looks seamless.
Blends like a dream!
I’m really impressed with this concealer brush both in terms of quality and performance. Upon first use I immediately noticed that the Jumbo Concealer blended out a cream colour corrector without lifting any product, which is the issue when I use a regular synthetic concealer brush. As a result I achieved fuller coverage, using less product. The results were the same when I blended out my liquid concealer and the finish was also seamless.
The combination of undyed goat hair and synthetic bristles is a perfect match in terms of optimum performance. I also appreciated that the mixture of bristles still felt soft and gentle on the skin, making the brush very comfortable. I think this is going to be my new undereye concealer brush because it gets the job done in half the time as a regular concealer brush. In addition, this brush was also useful for applying and blending out eyeshadow primer as well as applying powder to set undereye concealer.
Perfect medium sized crease brush
This brush took a long time to be restocked but it was definitely worth the wait!
It’s uber soft and gentle on the skin, so ideal if you have sensitive skin. The tapered shape enables precise placement of crease and transition colours. It also diffuses eyeshadow well so everything looks seamless. It’s similar in size to Sonia G’s Crease Pro, but isn’t as dense and has more flexibility and airiness, so shadow applies more softly and colour intensity builds gradually.
An added bonus is that the saikoho goat hair is undyed so the brush can be used with liquid and cream products too.
Buffs to perfection!
I love this brush because it is the optimum size for buffing precise areas of the face with ease. It feels incredibly soft and gentle on the skin and buffs powder products (translucent, setting, bronzer and blush) effortlessly without disturbing foundation underneath and the skin looks flawless afterwards.
If you’re looking for good quality powder brushes then a Sonia G face brush is definitely a good investment.
10/10
This crease brush is classic in shape but 10/10 in terms of functionality and performance. It has the perfect combination of density, flexibility and airiness, which enables colours to be built up gradually and blended effortlessly. The dyed saikoho pick up a good amount of product and feel extremely soft to the touch. The brush feels gentle on the skin, so there’s no tugging or scratchiness.
Multi-purpose brush
If you’re new to the brand or can only get one eye brush, you can’t go wrong with the Worker Pro because it’s so versatile.
I often reach for this brush to complete my eye makeup because it can: lay down lid colours; apply or blend crease colours, apply definition to the outer v, smudge shadow on the lashline or apply highlight to the brow bone. An additional bonus is the soft undyed Saikoho goat hair, which is gentle on sensitive skin and can also be used with cream, liquid or powder products.
The Worker Pro, Jumbo Blender and Mini Booster are my Sonia G must have eye brushes. Not to say I don’t like or use any others, it’s just these 3 are unique in shape & function and help me create a complete eye look in a short amount of time.
1 and done brush!
I’m really glad I added this brush to my collection, as it’s a workhorse and is perfect for simple “1 & done“ eyeshadow looks. It will lay down a wash of colour on the lids; apply or blend eyeshadow in the crease; fix any uneven applications of colour and soften harsh edges so they look seamless.
The dyed Saikoho goat hair is lovely and soft, but also gives the bristles good gripping power, so it’s easy to achieve an even, opaque wash of colour. The bristles are also dense so the brush feels sturdy and holds its shape well after being washed.
Workhorse face brush!
This is my first experience using a Sonia G face brush and I’m blown away!
The quality of this brush is superb and the bristles feel soft and gentle on the skin. The ergonomic design is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The tapered handle feels comfortable to hold and the medium sized tapered teardrop shape and flexibility makes it suitable for multiple different tasks.
My favourite way to use this brush is to set foundation with translucent powder and bronze the perimeter of the face. However, it can also be used to set undereye concealer, apply blush, contour or buff setting powder.
Something to bare in mind:
Due to the phenomenon of “floating hairs” this handmade brush will probably shed a few hairs at first, but it’s perfectly normal and nothing to be alarmed by. The brush isn’t faulty, it’s just that the artisans over fill the ferrule during the manufacturing process and it’s those excess hairs that fall away during initial use. The shedding should stop after 4-5 washes with a gentle brush soap.
A small but mighty tapered crease brush.
This brush is small and tapered, so it’s ideal for precise application of eyeshadow in the crease and outer v.
It is similar in size to the Wayne Goss #19 crease brush, but isn’t as airy. The Mini Booster has the perfect amount of density and flexibility and because it’s made from Saikoho goat hair, is also soft and feels gentle on the skin. As the hair is dyed the bristles have more grip when picking up pigments.
I’d recommend it, especially if you have small lid space or hooded eyes and/or need a brush that provides a more precise, concentrated application of colour.
