Beauty Product Reviews

Great colors; no longevity

Pros: The colors are very flattering on my light-medium, golden olive skin. I love how much product there is and that it comes with a mirror. The contour color is quite pigmented, and the perfect shade to chisel the face. Cons: The bronzer side is much more hard pressed than the contour. I found that my Sonia G Face Pro didn't pick up enough pigment. The bigger brush from the Sonia G Hinoki set is better, but it's not as impactful as I would have liked. Regardless, I get more of the soft sheen that the bronzer has than the actual color. I love a bronzed look, and it's usually my favorite makeup step, but I find the bronzer side to be lacking. I have to build layers and layers to get the look I want. I also find both the bronzer and contour to not be very long lasting. I feel like when I'm close to finishing my makeup that the bronzer has already disappeared. The contour begins to fade after just a few hours.

I really think it's just my skin and my preference, as I know this has such amazing reviews from others, but this wasn't a homerun for me that I thought it would be.

Perfect Go-To

This was my first experience with ND eyeshadows, and I am very very impressed. The mattes are soft and when you swatch with a finger it feels lightweight and almost creamy compared to other shadows I own. They do have a bit of kickback when you pick it up with a brush, but that's not a problem for me. The shimmers have a similar feeling, but with absolutely no kickback. There is no fallout with these shadows either. Because of the creamy-like quality to them, they don't accentuate the little folds I have on my lids. They really melt into the skin, and it looks beautiful. The tones are nice for everyday, and I also had no issues traveling with them. The two mid-tone browns look similar but one is just a bit warmer, and I appreciate having that subtle variance personally depending on the look I am going for.

Pleasant feel, but broke me out :(

I was so disappointed with this product because I love the texture and feeling of this on my skin, it has vitamin c and sodium hyaluronate in it, I appreciate the amber glass packaging, and it's a good price. I prefered putting it in the palm of my hands and patting into the skin. This was my first time using a skincare product with niacinamide after hearing the amazing things it can do for oily skin and redness. But this unfortunately broke me out on my forehead and in between my eyebrows. Like deep under-the-skin zits that became very red and inflamed. I think it's worth trying especially for the price and given the many good reviews. But it just did not work for me.
