Beauty Product Reviews
This brush, like all of Sonia's brushes, is a multitasking masterpiece. It's very similar to the Cheek Pro but it's a bit thinner, longer and slightly more tapered. I used it today for my under eye powder, my contour, my blush and my highlight and it performed each task beautifully. So far, I think this may be my favorite Sonia brush for contour. It lets you get right in that hollow to give such a precise application and works amazing for contouring the nose. And since it is more tapered than the Cheek Pro, you'll get a more airbrushed application as it does alot of the blending by itself. I do still prefer the Cheek Pro for blush but this applies it beautifully. And(just like all her other brushes) ITS SO SOFT. Amazingly soft. When I first started using Sonia brushes, I ended up putting on too much of everything because they felt so good against my face, I couldn't stop applying makeup lol. They are honestly a joy to use. Here are some comparison pictures between the Designer Pro and the Cheek Pro
My Meteorites Brush
So, after listening to me rave about how much I love Sonia and about how much of a genius the woman is, my husband decided he would treat me to some more of her brushes. I specifically wanted one of the bigger Fans, and I had it narrowed down between this and the Sculpt One. I was having trouble choosing and my husband decided to buy me both. Now, they aren't lying when they say it picks up a lot of product. But I tend to get rid of anything hard pan as I like a more gentle, soft application. Then I found the perfect match for this brush. While I usually use a powder foundation brush to apply my Guerlain Meteorites (I'm a huge fan) it takes me a while as the softer brushes I tend to favor struggle to pick up much powder from the pearls and the actual Meteorites brush from Guerlain isn't as soft as I'd like and pretty scratchy. Then, it hit me, USE THE SCULPT TWO! Omg, it fits in the little tin perfectly, almost as if it was made for it. One swish and the brush is coated in the violet goodness. Then.... The way it buffs it into the skin is an absolute dream and it feels like heaven against my face. Sonia's brushes are in a whole other league of softness I already loved Meteorites but this brush made me love them like I've never loved them before. It's honestly beautiful getting so much joy out of a product that usually requires more time and finesse. After I tried that, I decided it would be my finishing powder brush. And while the Hourglass finishing powders are super soft and easy to pick up, this brush is still perfect. It is honestly so amazing at buffing a nice, glowy powder into the skin to give you that gorgeous, soft, airbrushed effect. 10/10 love. Sonia is a goddess!
So, I've always been a lover of all things beauty. I wore drugstore makeup from like 12 to 17. Then I started buying high-end from around 17 to 28. Then, I used my first Pat McGrath eyeshadow and started exploring the world of luxury makeup. My collection slowly phased out my high-end makeup and replaced it with luxury products. Then, one day, while applying my makeup, I looked down at my not-so-luxury makeup brushes and thought, "I should buy a Japanese brush or two." And then my furious research began. After weeks of reading and comparisons, I settled on this set. When I first beheld them, I was a woman changed. The pure artistry! The craftsmanship! The texture of the bristles made me feel like virgin angels had cut off their lashes to gift me the bristles. Then I used them... It was honestly such a joy to use these brushes. I wanted to cry at the way they flawlessly applied and blended my eyeshadow, the way the goat hairs felt dancing across my eyes. It was pure poetry. I've been using this set for a couple of months now and I've found that I have only reached for other brushes when I need something very specific; eyebrows, liner brush, ect. Which isn't often. These are the only ones I want to use, my others are cold and lonely and I will be passing them along. I can never go back! For someone like me, it's not very practical to own only 5 eyeshadow brushes, and I really want more Sonia G, so I will be purchasing the entire face and eye set. I might buy all the Worker brushes because I'm obsessed. That little workhorse does EVERYTHING and I want 10. Sonia G, you are a goddess. You've opened my eyes and I will love you forever.
