Beauty Product Reviews

Unfortunately a bit disappointed

I have been giving these a fair run for about 5 months. These unfortunately have never stopped shedding for me. I'm used to floating hairs and a few shedding here and there throughout the life span of a brush. But I have a lot of natural hair brushes and I've never experienced shedding on this level. It's a shame because the brushes themselves are absolutely stunning and the saikoho bristles themselves are silky soft. But since they are not the densest brushes, I feel that they can't ''afford'' to shed as much as they have been doing. So these were a flop for me unfortunately.

What I wished Face One would be

I have owned Face One for quite some time. The bundling of my particular brush is extremely flat, almost bordering on concave. This makes me not to use much, because I feel I have to apply more pressure than I like to achieve full contact with the surface of the bristles to my skin. This Keyaki iteration is like the slightest adjustment from my face one - the entire surface of the brush is effortlessly touching my skin so I don't have to use any force at all. I can buff with the lightest pressure so it doesn't move any base makeup underneath. This one is also softer than my Face One so it can be used with a stippling motion without any pricking sensation. A real achievement from Sonia G and her brush makers.

Fave bronzer brush

I really wasn't gonna get this originally, as I don't usually don't get a lot of use out of very big brushes. I caved during the gift card event because this brush is simply stunning visually. It's ended up being one of my favorite Sonia G brushes out of my entire collection! For me, it's limited to bronzer, buffing and - blush i(n a pinch) bc I like to spot powder but you could use it to set the entire face if you usually do that. It's SO soft, big and bouncy. This is the type of brush that you can bounce on the face with no prickly feeling what so ever. It gives the most diffuse and gorgeous bronzer application I have ever experienced. It's a dream. I'm so glad I got it even though I definitely didn't need it. I'm so tempted to write more superlatives here but you get the gist.

Amazing.

This glorious woman has done it again.

I'm a notorious stippler. I have never been able to buff my powder foundations because I have combo textured skin and it would always accentuate flakes. For the first time I experienced being able to apply my powder foundation with a good buff!

This brush is nothing short of amazing. It's a bit smaller in diameter and shorter in bristle length than the Face One, offering a more controlled application and buff. The fact that its denser makes it much more suited for mineral powder foundation in my opinion. I used this brush today for exactly that - plus blush, targeted bronzer and buffing out my contour and highlighter. Even my boyfriend noticed how immaculate my complexion was looking! And y'all know its not everyday that people actually notice these type of details.

This brush will be an everyday staple for sure. I'm in buffing heaven. Sonia G, I thank thee!

Took a gamble

Koyudo make some of my absolute favorite brushes - Fu-Pa 02 being one of them.

When I was wondering whether this brush was for me, the photos showing the brush from the side or in-hand wasn't uploaded yet, so you couldn't really see the shape or size of it.

I was a bit disappointed that Beautylish couldn't answer my inquiries about this new mini Fu-Pa series, since I was curious about dimensions and whether they had the same gorgeous black lacquered handles with green glitter as the original Fu-Pa series (they do!) I took a gamble and ordered it just because I love my other brushes from Koyudo so much. And I was very pleasantly surprised by the slant! Reminds me of the BK 101 brush.

I personally love this for cream products because of how dense it is. It's perfect for cream blush for me because it kind of hugs the cheek, making the placement feel very intuitive. The bristles are incredibly soft, just like the 07 and the original 03 version. It does not scratch or poke in the slightest for me. I know that the 03, which has the same bristles, is meant to really good for powder foundation, which I can agree these bristles truly are - but it is just my personal preference to apply powder products with airier brushes.

A very pleasant surprise!

Yasssss

I didn't want to leave a review before I had washed and used the brushes for a bit. Well now I have, and I have to say they're the absolute bomb. Not to mention extremely aesthetically pleasing to your eyeballs!

Master face was the one face brush that was missing from Sonia G's collection in my opinion, and the main catalyst for me when deciding to purchase this set. It's ideal to use for quickly building up coverage with mineral foundation, setting, bronzing, finishing and buffing. I have Face one, which I love for finishing powder, but personally find a bit too soft for working effectively with mineral foundation.

Soft cheek is FANTASTIC for people who struggle with a soft application of blush (oh, hi!) The name of the brush really suits it, as it softens and diffuses anything to perfection. LOVE this.

Classic cheek has become my favorite with cream blush and other cream products such as bronzer and contour. Also fabulous with powders.

Mini cheek is my go-to for highlighting and targeted setting/powdering. Highlighting with it allows you to really lay it on for a high shine, or really work the highlighter in with smal buffing motions for a super soft sheen.

Worker fan is perfect for me. Before this set came, I was lusting after the Sculpt one. But having small features, this size is JUST perfect. Makes bronzing and contouring so easy for me, which I really appreciate since I always found contouring tricky.

Owning this and the pro set, feels like all the face brushes I'd ever need for my face, with the exception of a foundation brush, which I read somewhere Sonia had wanted to fit into this set, but that didn't make it into this launch. It probably needs to be finessed to perfection first lol.

Having such amazing brushes really makes me look forward to doing my makeup instead of viewing it as a chore. And they absolutely make a big difference, ensuring flawlessly blended results. They also challenge you to finesse your technique and explore the many uses the different brushes can have.

My first purchase ever of high quality make up brushes

I actually didn't find these brushes the most aesthetically pleasing when trying to decide on brushes to start my descent into the fude rabbit hole. I usually like a more minimal design and thought I'd start out with WG. I just ended up liking these shapes and size of the Pro Face set better. But man... when these came, I couldn't stop admiring the lacquer on the handles, and touching the bristles. I LITERALLY didn't avert my eyes for like 30 minutes. The craftsmanship is just outstanding. Pictures don't do them justice.

My favourites so far are Inochige and Face Pro. Inochige is just perfect for contour, bronzing, blush. I also LOVE it to pat/roll setting/finishing powder onto the skin or buff extremely lightly all over the face to blend everything in the end. Face pro is amazing for all over setting/finishing powder and bronzer - fits so immaculately in all areas that would be hit by the sun naturally. I'd say if you miss these shapes in your collection or were to just pick a few from this set, these are amazing!

The best part about these is also that as the brushes bloom and change with use, my favorites might end up varying. I am quite sure already that Cheek pro will become another favourite for blush as it blooms more with use and washing. The shape that it has now, I find best for contouring.

I like Detail pro for very targeted powdering or a single-color wash of shadow on the eyelids.

Fan pro is good for highlight, a SUPER light and targeted application of setting powder, or flicking away excess powder.

Using these brushes truly feels like self care to me.
