Effective Product at Affordable Price!

I have been using retinol products in various forms for years but they are usually mixed with so many other ingredients that I don't see a difference until I've used hundreds of dollars worth of product. The Ordinary Advanced Retinol 2% is completely different! I actually felt a tiny sting the first few times I used it (it's been years since I've felt any sting from retinol) and it went away as soon i applied my serum. It soaks in quickly and does not pill up when other products are applied on top of it. It's only been 5 days but the edges of my hyperpigmentation are starting to fade a tiny bit! And because of the great price, I am going to start using it on my chest and the backs of my hands. The Ordinary is magic in a bottle!

Great Discovery

To be honest, I bought this because I wanted the Problem Solver and Blue Cocoon and they were out of stock. I am very impatient so I bought the set. The Problem Solver was not as good as I expected (Glam Glow works better for me on my hormonal breakouts but I am always looking for something better) but Blue Cocoon exceeded my expectations. It smells warm and inviting and literally melts into your clean skin. It's also great for a facial and I rub a bit on my temples when I feel a tension headache starting and it relaxes me. It is very hydrating. The unexpected surprise in this was set was the Honey Mask. I don't like the smell of honey and thought this product would be a sticky smelly mess but it smelled lovely and it super hydrating. I mix a bit of it with the Problem Solver and I get a nice mask (sometimes I have to dilute with a little water to thin it out). I finish with Blue Cocoon and rub the leftovers into my cuticles. The only product that is a complete waste of money (sorry May Lindstrom) is the application brush. The quality is poor and after 2 uses I couldn't get the caked in product out of the bristles so I chucked it and I use a tongue depresser to mix up the magic and spread it on my face.

Don't Judge a Product By It's Price.

I was really surprised at how inexpensive The Ordinary products are and like many of us, I mistakenly assumed that meant the quality wasn't good. I am happy to report I was WRONG! I have friends that use some of the other Deciem products so I decided to give it a go and am happy to report that the Niacinimide 10% + Zinc is an amazing product. I expected it to combat the tiny hormonal breakouts on my chin which it did not do (it's only day 5) but what it is doing is breaking up the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks that has been there for years. I have tried every product on the market for hyperpigmentation, use sunscreen religiously and use retinol products but this is the first product I have ever used and seen a change with. I will definitely repurchase this!

New Favorites

These are pricey but good brushes pay for themselves. I invested in a high quality brush set 20 years ago and took great care of them by washing and storing as directed. They are finally starting to wear out so it was time for a new set. I bought one of Wayne's smudger brushes last year and was impressed with the quality so I started with the eye set. My only regret is that I didn't get the anniversary set last year.

The Jury Is Still Out

I love the 5 pan palettes that I purchased so I decided to take the plunge and splurge on the "Big One". I don't think it's a good sign that I've had it for 5 days and it's still in the box. On the positive side, the eyeshadows (based on my 5 pan experience) are really great quality. They stay on all day with or without primer. Oddly enough I found that my cheapie NYX primer works the best with these on humid days when I feel I need a primer. It's a "stickier" primer and that may be why but who knows. Most of the shimmery shades can also be worn on a more mature eye lid or in the v of your crease without looking like Baby Jane (it's a classic, rent it if you haven't seen it) if you use a light hand. Or a heavier hand if that's your thing, not judging. We're all makeup lovers here. Back to the big palette - the Purple/Blue palette should really be called Blue/Brown/Gold +1 purple color palette. It also desperately needs to have a matte black and a matte cream to tie everything together. For the price I feel like I should have everything I need in 1 palette. I may be exchanging for the Green/Brown palette or returning altogether. Still deciding.

Did not disappoint

I bought this powder after seeing so many great reviews on YouTube. I am not disappointed. It blends seamlessly with your skin and does not settle into lines and wrinkles like most powders do on "women of a certain age". And you can't beat the price! My only issue is the container. You have shake it in your palm and blend your brush there. Would be nice to have a "real" powder container.

Right Product, Wrong Color

I finally get the hype about liquid lipstick, thank you Jeffree! This dried beautifully, was not "tacky" like other liquid lippies and did not stain or dry out my lips. Unfortunately, the color was not for me. It looked coral not the Barbie pink I was dreaming of. On to other shades!

Delicious But Messy

The scrub works really well but is a bit drier than other scrubs so it doesn't stick together when you take it out of the pot. I lost product when removing it from the pot. Once on my lips, I love this stuff! It works really well! The taste is great but unfortunately as the box reminds you, it is not a meal :)

Glitter City

These pencils contain glittery chunks that are not flattering to anyone over the age of 12. It's a shame because the pencils really are budge proof even in humid climates. The colors are beautiful but all that glitter ....

Didn't Love This Product

One of the few IT products I really didn't like. I got it to cover the broken capillaries around my nose but I think it is designed for someone with rosacea. It has the consistency of mud and I had a tough time dabbing it on problem areas. Bye Bye Undereye worked better.
