Beauty Product Reviews
Will be using this daily!
I've only seen good reviews for this lip balm, so I decided to get it even though it's super expensive (it's my first Tom Ford product). I was eyeing Fathom to start, but after previous reviewers said Pure Shores was a lot lighter than expected, I decided to go for the darkest color, La Piscine. My lips are really pale and I'm always on the hunt for lip colors that darken my lips but look natural as opposed to done-up. La Piscine delivers! It's an awesome plummy shade--on my lips it looks slightly lighter and less purple (more natural) than on the model. It is very hydrating for an hour or so. To my surprise, the color lasted longer than the balm texture, which is a good thing in my book. Oh yes, this little lip balm is coming with me everywhere--it's my new balm buddy.
Plump lips take the cake
This oversized lip pencil is fantastic. I did not expect it to make my lips appear plump and youthful, but that's exactly what it does. I purchased "chestnut" and the color is lovely, however, much more red than it appears on on my screen. It is still an awesome brick red that compliments my complexion and looks very natural as opposed to overdone. It lasts quite a while, leaves a nice nice stain-effect, and doesn't dehydrate the lips. Also, you gotta love the packaging. The only con seems to be the price ($50, *cough*). Still, I reach for this often and really enjoy wearing it. And that makes it okay. ;)
Had high hopes for this...
I wish I was more in love with this highlighter from Kevyn Aucoin. I think I prefer powder highlighters after trying this. The cream in the pan attracts every piece of lint in the air or on your hands which gathers on the surface making it look dingy. Also, the highlight is so subtle that I ended up applying too much which created a thick, muddy look on my cheekbones and messed up my foundation. Additionally, I couldn't see any iridescent pink highlight, even after applying too much. Granted, the lighting in my bathroom is not great, but I didn't notice any difference in sunlight either.
Quality palette
This is a great palette. So far I've used it for the Kjaer Weis eyeshadows I've accumulated, which are quite small. I have plenty of room to add more! The dimensions are 7" x 5.5". The frosted cover attaches with magnets in the corners. Also, when you're using the palette, you can stick the cover to the back so it's not cluttering up your vanity.
Addicted to this mask!
I've only bought one other mask in my life and it was years ago. I decided to treat myself to this one after reading the glowing reviews. Also, with a name like "Goddess Skin Clay Mask", it has to be good, right? Well, it is. I apply it 10 minutes before getting into the shower and massage it in before rinsing. I have been using this ever other day because I am addicted to the baby-smoothness it gives my skin. I know I should cut down... maybe next week!
Love this balmy tint for a brightening effect
Sometimes, when I'm slightly dehydrated from caffeine, my lips go dry and colorless. I look ill when this happens! I wanted to try this lip flush to remedy that, and it works! I love the staining effect that lasts for a few hours. The only negative is that when I first slathered it on my lips, the excess must have accumulated on the outer edges and stained a weird lip-liner effect. Now I consciously apply a smaller amount and just to the inner areas of my lips. Also, the color doesn't appear as dark on me as it does in the model photos, which I don't mind.
My Lips But Better
First of all, I have been wanting to make this lip tint mine for a while. I finally took the plunge and got Sensuous Plum. It seems like such a sophisticated shade on the lips and in the pan it reminds me of jam or jelly. When I first tried to put it on, my lips were a little dry and the lip tint wasn't "warmed" enough, so application was difficult. Once the tint gets mixed a little with your finger, it goes on easier. This shade is subtle, which I like, but it might not show up well on lips with darker pigmentation. All in all, it fills my need for a subtle lip treatment--it dresses up the lips beautifully and looks much more natural than lipstick or gloss.
Great consistancy, good color
I love the scent (mouthwatering cherries) and consistency of this gloss! It gives a nice shine and boost of moisture. I was super excited about the color "Natural Rose" because on-screen it appeared as a muted bricky-red. With it's sheerness, on the lips appeared almost peachy. I was really drawn to the brick-red color, but in actuality it's a pinky-rose tone. That's okay, I like the color well enough. But, I wish they also made this gloss in a nice, muted, sheer brick red!
Perfect Finishing Touch
I thought the light pink color of this powder would be like a transparent veil on the skin, and I was right! I use a pinkish highlighting BB cream on my forehead, nose and chin. This powder doesn't diminish the effect of the highlighter, but enhances it. I feel like I've stumbled on a beautiful, mattifying holy grail. So perfect for summer!
Ariana is slightly pinker than it appears
For weeks I was lusting after this blush in the new color "Ariana". It appeared to be such a vibrant, glowing peach color online. In fact, it looked like my skin tone, but luminous. I needed that color on my cheeks! I bit the bullet and ordered it, not really knowing what to expect--I wasn't sure if the color would even show up on me. When I opened the compact, the color Ariana was pinker than I expected. It still has warm peach tones, but it definitely adds a rosy flush to the cheeks, like an authentic sunburn. I am impressed with how realistic and natural it looks! Also, the value is slightly darker than I expected, which is good because it does show up on light-medium complexions. It should be noted the blush doesn't come with an application brush, as stated online. All in all, the formula is exceptional (silky, not drying), and the color is beautiful (soft, authentic peachy-pink)...it's a home run!
