Beauty Product Reviews

Oily lid gals take notice

I love these. Wish I owned all of them. The texture is a non sparkly version of Chanel Illusion dombre eyeshadows. They are a putty, mousse, gel like formula so here is the thing about these and the Chanel version sometimes when you get them they look pulled away from the sides and dried out. While this is an indication of the product drying it does not mean it is not useable or done. What I do with these is push the product down flat into the container eliminating all air flow on the sides. This helps to preserve any cream eye shadow with this texture. Still worried you can put a drop of Inglots duraline (which is my beauty equivalent to windex in my world) on the back of your hand rub in with finger and then rub finger in product. This cream eye shadow does not crease on me as most do and I own a lot of cream eye shadow. I use them as bases all the time. These I can use alone and they have a very sophisticated wash of color not full on BAM pigment but subtle and very pretty. I do really like these a lot.

oh my

i purchased several in this series of brushes. pretty much every single one but 3, the eye brow, powder, and foundation brush. i was nervous because i purchased several of the z-series and although they are by far some of the softest brushes i own i had issues with the overall construction of the z-series. these however oh my oh my! are lovely. i did a little research and found out that they are made of saikoho goat hair (some of the super softest goat hair there is) so i bought them. i am embarrassed to admit i'm a brush horder. i love brushes. all price points and fibers i hate to say i have a lot. these are beautifully made. solid construction and each brush is fully packed with fibers no open spaces and the goat hair....oh sooo soft. i tend to gravitate towards goat hair brushes because they are soft but have enough structure to grab product. as much as i love my squirrel brushes sometimes they are too soft to be functional or to blend or apply product. these are absolutely amazing. my hakuhodo saikoho brushes still are my all time favorites but these are right behind them in second place. the handle is light weight. feels solid but has a nice weight to them.

beautiful brush

this is one of 3 brushes that i bought from the chikuhodo z series and without a doubt the softness of these brushes did not let me down. these brushes are literally the kind of brushes that you can pet all day long, smile, and just be in total awe of how amazing they are. they truly are knock your socks of "holy smokes" nearly make you pee your pants soft. i reviewed the other highlight brush from this series so i won't repeat how great this brush performs for me. i wear make up but i am a very light handed "no make up make up" buildable, layering make up kinda gal so these kind of brushes really appeal to me. now the bad... there had to be a bad because i couldn't give this brush a 5 star rating. one of the first things i do when i get a new brush is run my fingers through it this brush was not fully packed into the ferrule and there was spacing when i pushed the bristles to one side. i hate that. i really really hate that. especially with a brush that i pay nearly $100 for. i expect the ferrule to not have any spacing which will encourage water to go into the ferrule. of course with that said i did not try to return or exchange it. unfortunately i had the same problem with the Z-10 eye shadow brush. totally bummer actually but this has not affected the performance of these brushes. they perform beautifully. i just have to be extra careful washing and handling these. i will say this beautylish.com is awesome and i mean awesome. i ordered my brushes and within 1 hour i got an email saying they shipped and in 2 days i had my brushes in my hand. they were beautifully packed with a nice hand written note. seriously?! that is amazing customer service and i will without hesitation be purchasing from here again.

ooooh my

this brush is absolutely amazing. it is so luxurious and soft and applies a gentle wash of color to the face. its wonderful. i don't regret paying the hefty price tag for it and i use it every day. i have washed it a few times and it has not shed a hair or lost any of its soft feel. it did have that dead, wet animal smell when wet but it lost the smell after the second washing. the only reason i can't give it 5 full stars is because i don't care for the handle. i feel like for the price i pay it should be a little heavier and more substantial weight. of course that is a minor thing. the handle is so light weight almost feels hallow. i own several of the hakuhodo kokutan series brushes and i like the weight of the wooden handle and solid build. this brush scares me that i might dent it if i mistakenly bump it into something. now as much as i feel its important to take care of my make up items that are pricey i also feel that when i pay a certain price it should withstand the test of use and time. at any rate i would buy this brush over and over again because it performs so beautifully and feels amazing on the skin. the shape is perfect for highlighting.
