I'm not really an expert on eyeshadow but the colors in the modern Renaissance palette are extremely blendable compared to other eyeshadows I use. It doesn't feel dry, it feels more "buttery" than dry. Versatility wise, I think it's really easy to work with especially for a newbie like me. All the colors goes well with each other.

I haven't used color oops on black hair, I have on several occasions on brown hair but it has never worked enough to justify the horrific smell. I've never had good experiences with it at all lol.
But I would go get it professionally if possible. It can be super damaging and difficult.
As for colors, I really think a personal mix would be best. There's special effects burgundy wine that would create a similar color but I think you should get create with some dark reds purples and possibly adding dark colors like manic panic raven (though that is green based but I can't think of the other brands blacks), to create a color for over top so that you can control it better.
