Beauty Product Reviews
While I don't have small eyes, I have a bit of a hooded lid situation going on, and eye makeup has always been torture. I was using EcoTools, which were just not doing it for me, then purchased the Hakuhodo J5523 and found it too large to control comfortably. The WG04 is absolutely perfect, and everything I had hoped the J5523 would be! It's small enough for precise application, not scratchy (not UBER soft either, since then it wouldn't blend well, but comfortable), and manages to both pack on color and blend it out nicely. And I definitely prefer the pointed tip of the 04 to the flat tip of the 5523.
Wayne Goss has done it again...
I had been wanting to try out this brush for months, but kept second guessing whether I'd actually get any use out of it. I finally ordered it, and it is absolutely delightful! I use it for lightly brushing on setting powder, as well as for light everyday contour, and it works perfectly. It's also sooo soft!
I honestly always thought that "fancy" eye brushes were kind of a waste of money, and that the cheaper ones weren't that different from the more expensive options. Until I ran into an issue with wanting to return just about every single eye shadow I purchased, because none of them were applying well... At that point I decided to revisit, and ordered the WG 18. The difference between application with my old EcoTools and the WG is unreal! It packs on color beautifully, and the shadow looks so much more vivid. It's firm, and can be scratchy on the side (you don't use it that way anyway, so not a big issue for me), but the size and application are just perfect for me.
This was the first WG brush that I bought, and it was literally the first makeup brush I have ever owned that made me go "Wow!". (Sorry, Hakuhodo - looks like we were just not meant to be.) It is absolutely glorious for bronzer - soft yet firm, not too big/small and generally awesome. I used to have to use two brushes for bronzing/contouring: one to apply and one to blend, but this one can do it all! Only downside I can think of is that it has a fairly strong smell of goat, but hopefully that will wash out soon. Overall LOVE this brush!
I absolutely LOVE this brush. I have spent so much money on trying to find the perfect blush brush, have amassed a huge collection of fails from EcoTools to Hakuhodo, and it looks like this one is as close to perfect as can be! What I love the most is how universal it is. I use it both with high and medium pigmented blushes, and it works beautifully with all of them. You know how sometimes brushes that are too soft won't blend out well, and brushes that are too firm end up applying too much? This one magically avoids both issues - it's soft to the skin, but firm at the same time.
Overall, I am incredibly impressed with all WG brushes I have tried so far. Even my Hakuhodos never really "wowed" me, but these are absolutely fantastic!
