Beauty Product Reviews
Irritating and Messy
I received this a free sample and really wanted to like this but I absolutely hated it. First off the texture. I love scrubs and gritty textures but this was just too harsh. It was like rubbing sand on my face and it was an unpleasant tingling feeling. Washing it off lead to more scrubbing and skin was slightly burning. Also my skin was stained black and got on my towel. I had to use several cotton pads of toner to get the gunk off my skin. All around a terrible product.
Great Makeup Remover
Okay, not really meant to remove makeup but I was impressed. I got foundation matched at Clinque and got one of these as a sample. After a while the makeup started to bother me (probably something on the brush used to apply it) and I decided to wash off some of it with the sample soap in the store bathroom. I was impressed. My foundation melted away and left my skin clean. Later on I cleaned my skin again with my Clarisonic and not a trace of orange was left on my brush. I will definitely buy a full size when I need more face wash.
I Don't Understand The Hate
I was told to use this by my derm and though I was hesitant I loved it. The sun protection is amazing, 30 SPF? Awesome. My skin started to balance out with use. While not instantaneous my acne cleared up and I rarely get breakouts now. I still use it for the crazy amounts of SPF in it and for a bit of moisture in the morning.
Not The Best Soap Ever But Pretty Good
No, I don't use this soap on the daily. I'm not a bar soap person, and I love Dove's liquid body wash more, but this soap is amazing. My issue with many bar soaps is the fact that they are drying and leave your skin icky feeling. Dove is the opposite. It cleans your skin well, and while there is little to no scent it gets rid of any BO you may have, and leaves it soft and residue free. Definitely something I would keep on hand or in the guest bathroom.
Deep Cleaner Yet Gentle
I've had this about three months and I think I can give an honest opinion of this now! When you first use the brush it tends to be quite rough and a my skin was red afterwards. I didn't break out or have irritated skin but I note I shouldn't use harsher cleansers or use this twice a day everyday. Using it at night is fine! After a while my acne cleared up and I feel better going makeupless. The few times I do wear makeup the Clarisonic gets every bit even with cleansers that aren't that effective at removing makeup. My skin is definitely less oily and softer. Its quite sturdy and I've dropped it a few times without it breaking, but put it somewhere safe! It is prone to falling in the shower if you put it on a ledge. I must complain of a smell when you don't dry off the brush head, however it is easily remedied with a soak in rubbing alcohol. I adore it so much!
Good Formula, Weird Brush
This is an incredible formula, it's lengthening, thickening, and holds curl well. So much so I wouldn't wear glasses with this mascara! However the cone shaped brush is a little odd. The tip collects a ludicrous amount of mascara and makes it a bit clumpy. To prevent that I swirl the brush around and use the tip to define lashes. Lovely!
It Doesn't Show On My Lids...
I got this as a gift and I was eager to try it out. I did a little scribble and nope, nothing on my lids. I had a problem with this before with a previous liner so I tested it on a paper towel then tried again, no dice. Finally I tried it on my arm. At last! Vivid colour with a hint of sparkle... and it was on my arm not my lids. So I gave one final try on this only for NOTHING to show on my face. I'm not sure if it was my skin type or what, but in never worked on my lids.
Holiday Fav!
When Christmas comes I can count on two things, my aunt and uncle have no idea what to get me, and the Body Shop will have this beauty out! Super moisturizing and fruity, yet still festive. The shimmer will stick if you put on at night but I've never had a problem with it on fabric. Brought this to a sleepover and everyone loved it! I thought the girls were going to steal the bottle.
