Quality brushes, great if you don't mind the short handles
I think this is a versatile set that gives you enough tools to do face and eyes. The mini base is great for foundation and creams. It applies the foundation evenly and gives a lighter coverage than maybe a denser brush. I liked it since I was using a denser brush and found my foundation was looking cakey. The classic face is a nice powder brush. I don't really use a lot of powder, so I mainly use it for blush. I like how it blends beautifully. The other three eye brushes are great to have if you like doing the traditional(?) gradient eye look (a darker outer v, with brightened inner corner and all over lid color). I like that the eye brushes are undyed so you can use with creams too. The brushes are all very soft. I see that the shorter handles was not received well but I personally don't mind it. I would gladly take the shorter handles if that means the price point is lowered and I can get more brushes (I hate pricing quality items but I ain't independently wealthy so). I think this is a great set to try if you're new to Sonia G and want a set that can do full face and eyes. They are some of my favorite brushes I own aside from the Sonia G fan brushes I love for contour.
A favorite
Soooo I don't really have a noticeable cheekbone, so generally contours end up looking muddy if I don't apply strategically. The sculpt four makes contour a breeze. I generally contour with cream (with a denser, directional brush) under foundation and apply powder contour with this brush. Just a couple of swipes under the cheekbone creates beautiful and precise contour, that does not look muddy. The brush is capable of creating sharp contour that looks natural but you can also blend it out too with this brush. I also have sculpt one, which is a bigger version of this brush and I definitely prefer sculpt four for contour. I appreciate the design that made the thickness different one side vs the other in case I ever need that level of control and precision. The brush is keeping well and have not shed although I've used it for months. I use sculpt two for highlight. I really love the sculpt four for contour and sculpt two for highlight combo. They are really the best. Sculpt four is soft and feels great on the face. Highly recommend this brush.
Natural and gorgeous
I'm relatively light skinned so I went with 01 light. I wanted a highlight that didn't seem artificial. When I looked at YouTube vid, this seemed to work the best over a stick shimmer. I used this powder shimmer over the Sonia kashuk sparkling sands shimmer stick and the combo created a beautiful glow without looking like I put a chunk of makeup on my face. This shimmer powder is finely milled and I loved it for the color since I found most shimmers had a gold tint. It works lovely by itself but defintely recommend stick+powder if you want the extra dewy or wet look.
beautiful and versatile
I owned various dupe shades before this quad came out. So I wasn't planning to get this. However, I was gifted this palette and I was very surprised at how much I love it. The dark green and purple are very useful for accenting the eyes with various color combinations. The white is a great highlight color and the multi-pigmented black is eye catching. I normally don't have issue with fall out since I use a primer and I use a packing method more than swiping. All shades are nicely pigmented. Needlesstosay, I don't use the dupe shades I already own. ahaha. Love this palette.
